Biblical Audio Commentary – Blue, Red, & Black Pilled

Transcript:

We all pretty much know what is meant by someone being red-pilled.  Way back in 1999 the movie The Matrix introduced us to that term.  Keanu Reeves had to choose between the blue and red pills.  Would he take the blue and remain unconsciously enslaved by a system that trapped humanity in its dystopian dreamworld?  Or would he choose the red pill and wake up to the horrors of the reality in which humanity lived?  In so doing, would he also join the fight of truth against the forces of falsehood and deception that sought to maintain total control of mankind?

Since that movie, those on the right side of the political spectrum have embraced this metaphor.  Our world and what we once thought about our country and our government aren’t rooted in truth.  Over the years we’ve been presented with various tragic events that we thought were rooted in hatred by others toward our nation and the way of life we enjoy.  Sadly, as we’ve learned during the COVID era, we’ve been deceived.

We conspiracy theorists have learned that it isn’t other people groups or foreign governments that have been the primary instigators of tragedies and wars, it has been our own US government with the covert forces of three-letter agencies, the bureaucratic Deep State, and the highest offices of the land that have turned hostile against We the People.  For those of us who have learned this lesson, it’s a sobering – and frankly, disappointing – wake-up call to the truth.  What we thought we knew, was all a lie fostered by 100 years of Communist infiltration and a deadly serious spiritual effort to take America down.  Why?  To pave the way for a New World Order with a One World Government.

To be red-pilled is to realize this state of the world and to fight against it.

I think for most Christians this is essentially the end of the matter.  Lots of believers are fully aware of the coming hard times of the Tribulation, whether they understand how bad it will actually be, or even if they don’t hold a pre-Tribulation Rapture perspective.  Red-pilling has finally awakened them.  The church – the sleeping giant – is finally arising.

Or is it?

What it seems to me is that Christians, who have come to understand that government and cultural forces are contrary to their beliefs, have turned to the political or activist spheres to address and solve these problems.  Red-pilling has caused them to finally run for school boards, city councils, or even higher state or national offices.  It has brought about a large and vocal alternative media that at the least informs and encourages resistance.

The question, however, is: Is it too little, too late for the church and those Christian perspectives to make a difference so as to turn back what has festered for so long?

Another question: Based on where we are in human history and in the Church Age, will these efforts make any difference?

One more: Are any of these red-pilled, good-hearted Christians considering what is happening in the world by examining it through, not just a Biblical, but also a prophetic lens?

That’s where the idea of being black-pilled comes in.  Here’s a statement I found in this regard:

. . .  the recent rise of the so-called “black-pilled” aspect of the “truther community” – people are overly focused on doom & gloom and negativity, seeing psy-ops and controlled ops everywhere. They look at it from trauma and hyperdimensional occult perspective and how the awakening impulse can get hijacked by occult forces working through our minds.

Now, I can see the difficulty people have with those who identify as being black-pilled (even if they didn’t realize there was such a term for their outlook).  Heck, when I saw the term recently, it was a first for me, and right away, I said: “That’s what I am!  Call me Mr. Doom & Gloom!  I’ve been black-pilled!”

Despite identifying in this way, there’s a difference in my beliefs from what others of like mind have.  That difference comes about because of my adherence to the doctrine of a pre-Tribulation Rapture.

We need to initially understand that the Tribulation will be the worst period ever on the face of this earth.  Whatever the starting point for the population is once the Tribulation begins, up to 1/4 of that may die during the Seal Judgments, whereas another 1/3 will definitely die during the Trumpet Judgments.  Have no doubt as well that during the Bowl Judgments, much of the rest of earth’s population will perish. Thus, if the population is 4 billion to begin with – and there is good rationale to believe it’ll likely be right around that number – then kill off up 1/4 of that and we’re down to 3 billion.  Then take away 1/3 more and we end up with 2 billion by about the Midpoint of the Tribulation.  The numbers could actually be worse depending on when the Tribulation begins and how successful the global cabal is in reducing the population to its desired 500 million, plus whatever the Bowl Judgments yield.  Yes, it could be way worse.

During the Tribulation, the supernatural will be the normal.  Indeed, as that description said, the occult will be prominent.  If this is doom and gloom, it’s only because of what the Bible describes.  Take it up with God if you don’t like the scenario.

Presumably a goodly number of Christians are getting this fact that times will be horrible during those seven years.  The problem is that many of them aren’t of the same mindset as the NAR adherents who think Christians will have a blast in this era because they’ll be running around calling down God’s judgments and destroying evil-doers.  That’s just a fantasy.

Far too many Christians not buying into the NAR fairy tale think instead that they have to prep and provide through an alternative community of like-minded individuals so as to make it through.  Gold, bartering, sustainable living circumstances: these are all at the forefront of what this group of believers sees as the only means to survive.  Yes, I’m sure that prayer is part of that and the desire to gather together in small church settings.

It’s just that this is unreasonable based on what the Tribulation will be like.  I inevitably refer people to Isaiah 24 for a good description.  As a reminder, here’s Verse 1:

Behold, the Lord makes the earth empty and makes it waste,
Distorts its surface

And scatters abroad its inhabitants.

That right there puts a crimp in the idea of gathering in communities since everyone is widely scattered.

Verse 4:

The earth mourns and fades away,
The world languishes
and fades away

In other words, nothing is normal or as it used to be.

Verse 6:

Therefore the curse has devoured the earth,
And those who dwell in it are desolate.
Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned,
And few men
are left.

This is an extremely unpleasant picture.  Who would want to be a part of that?  It provides no relief.

The rest of the psalm does reference some who will exalt the Lord and how with judgment by the coming of Jesus Christ, God will bring justice, but that occurs at the end of this time of trouble.

So, yes, break out the black pills.  When Christians miss this understanding, they are wrongly interpreting what is to come.  More than that, they are oblivious to the glorious promise we have in Christ to keep us from this day of wrath that is rained down upon the entire world.

None of the scenarios painted by anyone other than a pre-Tribulation Rapture believer are in sync with Scripture, nor do they provide the ultimate hope that we have who do believe in Christ’s deliverance from this awful time.

You can see why the idea of calling down the wrath of God like various NAR teachers propose is attractive to some, but it neglects to let God be God and for Him to gain all the glory.  With this concept, it’s the church on earth that is glorious, not Jesus Christ.

In the huddling, sustaining, and surviving scenario, that doesn’t really give much glory to the Lord either, plus there are numerous other Scriptural problems with it.

No, the only way forward for true Christian believers is for Jesus Himself to appear in the clouds and gloriously escort us to His Father’s house.  I want to be surrendered to that reality by humbly watching and waiting.

That’s my black pill that will actually transform into a beacon of light.  That’s what I’m waiting for.

Amen, you and me both, Gary. I am of the same “woe to the earth and its inhabitants” mindset and ever so much more so after we are gone. The Bible tells us what is coming and I believe it, so Black Pill it is.

I was up extremely early this morning, went outside, looked up and worshipped the Lord.
Psalm 13:1-6 flet as though it was written for me today:
1-Hallelujah! Give praise, O servants of the LORD; praise the name of the LORD.
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD both now and forevermore. 3 From where the sun rises to where it sets, the name of the LORD is praised. 4 The LORD is exalted over all the nations,
His glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like the LORD our God, the One enthroned on high?
6 He humbles Himself to behold the heavens and the earth.

I’m baffled by those who think they can survive the Tribulation. Do they only read the parts they foolishly think they can control and ignore all the rest?! It’s understandable for the unsaved, they know bad things are coming. They bunker down with their beanie-weenies and load up on the ammo, thinking they’ll make it through. And as long as they are unredeemed that’s a good plan, you should live as long as possible if this is the closest to Heaven you will ever get.

But for Christians, why would you want to do that?! Is there a lack of belief in Heaven, or is it a total misunderstanding of God’s plan? I don’t get it, not at all.

I’m more convinced than ever that a nuclear war of some kind is coming, sooner than later. It’s analogous to a couple who is estranged and constantly threatening to file for divorce. They have moved into seperate homes, begun dividing assets and have hired attorneys. You’d be foolish to think that a divorce isn’t forthcoming. This is how things are now between the USA and Russia/China. The more preparations for war, the more threatening the rhetoric, the more warlike attacks (Nordstream Pipeline anyone?), and factoring in our demonically controlled global leaders, the closer we get to massive destruction. It is only a matter of time…oh, and the Bible indicates it’s likely to happen as well. There’s that. How else can you kill off that many people in such a relatively short time?

Black Pilled would make an interesting t-shirt, but it wouldn’t be a best-seller.

“I am Black-Pilled. Ask Me Why.”

All eyes on Israel this morning. We’ll have to see how things develop, but there’s certainly the potential for this to be the Psalm 83 War. If Hezbollah and other militias join in the fray…

Regardless, it may be that end-times events are ramping up.

        Much better title.

What is happening in Israel today has every chance of escalating. We’ll see what God has in mind. I’m surprised how “supportive” the global governments are being toward Israel this morning. And if I lived in Syria, I’d get far, far away from there if at all possible.

        I’m praying for Israel.

Just heard that Hezbollah is about to join the fray.

Maybe this will lead to the destruction of Damascus which may in turn lead to Ezekial’s War.

        • Reply Gary Ritter

If Hezbollah comes in and then other surrounding nations, this could be the start of the Psalm 83 War. I’m being careful in how I say these things, because we won’t know until things develop more. Unlikely to be Ezekiel, however, because of who the combatants are – not Russia, Iran, and Turkey, rather neighboring nations and the enemy within (Hamas).

Does the black pill come in capsule form? Ill take a bottle.

I think it is in pill form – just ask Alice:

One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you, don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice, when she’s ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you’re going to fall
Tell ’em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call
He called Alice, when she was just small

When the men on the chessboard get up and tell you where to go
And you’ve just had some kind of mushroom, and your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know

When logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen’s off with her head
      Remember what the Dormouse said
Feed your head, feed your head

~ White Rabbit – Jefferson Airplane

We’ll change the lyrics a little to “feed your soul, feed your soul – read God’s Word.”
