Awaken Bible Prophecy Update 12-13-23 – How Will the Israel-Hamas War Proceed?

One reliable source I recommend that you may want to follow regarding the Israel-Hamas War is Caroline Glick.  She is an Israeli journalist with a sincere desire to tell the truth, and has been doing so for many years.  A little-known fact about her is found on the About section of her website:

Glick was born in Houston, TX and grew up in Chicago, IL. She moved to Israel in 1991, two weeks after receiving her BA in Political Science from Columbia University. She joined the Israel Defense Forces that summer and served as an officer for five and a half years.

And here I thought she was Israel-born and just spoke English well.  Her resume is solid, conservative, and shows her to be an avid Israel supporter seeking to bring real news rather than globalist pablum.  FYI – she is not a Christian.

Caroline has been reporting in depth lately about the Israel-Hamas War.  As you might expect, she has been very concerned about the faux support coming from the Biden Administration.  Biden and others in the Regime have been speaking out of both sides of their mouths.  They express undying support for Israel while at the same time tying Israel’s hands and helping Hamas in numerous ways.  We all know that words are simply that.  It’s what people do – their actions – that tell us their true intentions.  That is definitely the case with our American government.

We’ll examine a few aspects of this in a moment.  First, we’ll pray and read from God’s Word.

Scripture:

Ezekiel 36:33-36

“Thus says the Lord God: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.”

How Will the Israel-Hamas War Proceed?

  • As Caroline Glick has reported, one of the major issues Israel has in conducting this war on her own terms is that she is beholden to the U.S. for supplying major munitions and ordnance.
  • For years, we have apparently kept Israel from manufacturing armaments herself, promising that we would always supply her needs.
  • We’re from the American government and we’re here to help.
  • Actually, what we’ve done is subject Israel to a form of welfare.
  • She doesn’t have to be self-sufficient because we’re her daddy and will give her all she requires to exist.

  • Naturally, there’s a price.
  • Israel must jump when we dictate to her that she has to take that leap.
  • This is all coming to a head in this war, and it’s a real problem.
  • This quote by a retired IDF Major-General in Caroline’s article Biden is the Primary Obstacle to Israeli Victory describes the dynamic:

“All of our missiles, the ammunition, the precision-guided bombs, all the airplanes and bombs, it’s all from the U.S. The minute they turn off the tap, you can’t keep fighting. You have no capability. … Everyone understands that we can’t fight this war without the United States. Period.”

  • Compound this with the fact that Biden & Company want to continue providing so-called humanitarian aid to Gaza.
  • Of course, the truth on the ground is that most of these items – food, water, and fuel – end up resupplying Hamas.
  • That visually proved to be the case in the last couple days as Israel took numerous Hamas terrorist hostages that were obviously quite well-fed
  • At least the humanitarian aid helped some Palestinians.
  • Too bad the women and children haven’t been quite so fortunate.
  • The recent cease-fire for hostage release also gave Hamas breathing room to regroup and probably relocate the rest of the Israeli hostages.

  • The Biden position is that Israel will not be able to take control of the Gaza Strip after the war, nor would she be allowed to build in a buffer zone between Gaza and Israeli civilian communities.
  • Isn’t that an odd stance to take?
  • We won’t allow our ally to protect herself going forward after the war.
  • It’s almost as if we want a repeat.
  • Israel has a maritime blockade of Gaza.
  • Can’t continue with that because it might disrupt the flow of weapons via the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Biden people want Gaza to be ruled by the Palestinian Authority and united with that same administration in Judea- Samaria, i.e. the so-called West Bank.
  • Naturally, the U.S. has funded and armed this terrorist group, which actually participated in the October 7 atrocities.
  • You may have heard that two Palestinians – possibly Israel informants – were brutally lynched a week or so ago after being tortured.
  • This was done publicly to the rabid acclaim of thousands of “innocent” civilian Palestinians.
  • America is such good friends with Israel that we’d like to keep this civil society continuing just as it is.

  • A fun fact is that after Israel abandoned Gaza in 2005 under extreme U.S. and international pressure, which allowed Gaza to be self-governing, it also gained control of the Gaza-Egypt border.
  • Even wonder how Hamas got so many rockets, paragliders, etc.?
  • Wonder no more.

  • What we’ve got in all this is that Israel is in a difficult position – a Catch-22, if you will.
  • Since I haven’t used this term for a long time, here according to Merriam-Webster is a reminder of what a Catch-22 is:

a problematic situation for which the only solution is denied by a circumstance inherent in the problem or by a rule

  • In other words, the right and ultimate answer is that Israel must destroy Hamas completely and regain control of Gaza.
  • However, as Israel’s best friend, the U.S. will withhold Israel’s ability to do that by not supplying the weapons she needs.
  • Worse, we want terrorism to continue – an obvious fact when we see how we continue to prop up Hamas and who we urge Israel to partner with to bring about her final solution.

  • And that’s exactly what would happen: it would be the Final Solution for Israel.

  • Might there be a faction in the Biden Regime – a puppet of the globalist elites – which wants this very outcome?
  • I don’t know about you, but I don’t have to think too hard about this question.

  • Of course, all this is being reported through a secular lens, so let’s change things up a bit and gaze through the pages of Scripture at the situation to see if God might have something prophetic to say about it.

  • Let’s ask the questions:

  • What happens if America, in our loyal and steadfast friendship with Israel, decides to stop providing the major bombs, etc. that Israel needs to prosecute this war and bring it to its ultimate conclusion – one of complete and utter victory?

  • What if Hezbollah comes at Israel full-force under this scenario?
  • Perhaps this happens only when Hamas is destroyed or very close to it.
  • Benjamin Netanyahu, by the way, has just said that this goal will be achieved soon.

  • What if the other surrounding Muslim nations to Israel which hate her so much – extremely weak treaties with Jordan and Egypt notwithstanding – decide now is the time to complete Israel’s annihilation that they began at the very first in 1948 when she became a nation?
  • This is not so far-fetched.
  • Egypt has stated that if Israel forces the Palestinians into their country, their relationship could fray quickly.
  • Jordan has a weak ruler and inevitably tries to please the radical elements while balancing its relationship with Israel.
  • It’s not hard to imagine those unruly citizens in Jordan getting itchy trigger fingers when Hamas goes down and Hezbollah decides they need to enter the conflict.
  • One wonders how safe King Hussein might be under those circumstances along with the Israel-Jordan treaty.

  • Yes – there I am again suggesting the potential that this may snowball into the Psalm 83 War – but humor me.
  • Call it Psalm 83 or not – it really doesn’t matter.
  • What does matter is if all these hostile nations see that Israel has no weapons support from the U.S. and is immensely vulnerable.
  • What then?

  • Hmmm – they’d probably conspire together and do all that they could to drive Israel into the sea so that they could declare as in Psalm 83:4:

“Come, let us destroy them as a nation,
so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.”

  • Do you think that’s possible if we withdraw our armaments support?
  • Given America’s wishy-washy, lukewarm support for Israel, do you think this could go down like this?

  • Then what happens?

  • Israel would find herself even more so in an existential struggle for her very survival.
  • She must respond massively so as to defeat the enemy on every side, along with causing Iran to withdraw from the proxy war, and to demoralize every single one of these nations.

  • How might Israel do this?

  • Desperate circumstances call for desperate solutions.
  • The Bible suggests at least two that are pretty clear-cut.
  • We don’t know how the timing would work on this, i.e. which would happen first, but we have the prophetic Word of God that Damascus will be destroyed overnight per Isaiah 17:1,14 plus Jeremiah 49:23-27:

Isaiah

An oracle concerning Damascus.

Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city
and will become a heap of ruins.

At evening time, behold, terror!
Before morning, they are no more!
This is the portion of those who loot us,
and the lot of those who plunder us.

Jeremiah

Concerning Damascus:

“Hamath and Arpad are confounded,
    for they have heard bad news;
they melt in fear,
they are troubled like the sea that cannot be quiet.
Damascus has become feeble, she turned to flee,
    and panic seized her;
anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her,
as of a woman in labor.
How is the famous city not forsaken,
    the city of my joy?
Therefore her young men shall fall in her squares,
and all her soldiers shall be destroyed in that day,
declares the Lord of hosts.
And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus,
and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.”

  • We also have God’s Word that the might of Elam will be subject to sudden disaster Jeremiah 49:34-39:

The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah.

Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the mainstay of their might. And I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the four quarters of heaven. And I will scatter them to all those winds, and there shall be no nation to which those driven out of Elam shall not come. I will terrify Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their life. I will bring disaster upon them, my fierce anger, declares the Lord. I will send the sword after them, until I have consumed them, and I will set my throne in Elam and destroy their king and officials, declares the Lord.

“But in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam, declares the Lord.”

  • Why would Damascus come into play?
  • Because this ancient city is a major hub for Hezbollah.

  • And why Elam?
  • Elam is southwestern Iran where the Bushehr nuclear plant is located.
  • It’s a primary location for Iran’s development of the weapons it eventually wants to deploy against Israel.
  • The marvelous aspect of this prophecy about Elam is the final verse.
  • The people of Iran are turning to Jesus Christ in unprecedented numbers.
  • Its ruling elite will be destroyed by God’s mighty sword.
  • At a future point Iran will be a nation that worships Christ and will be blessed for it.

  • What if – we do a lot of what if scenarios in Bible prophecy discussions. . .
  • What if Israel decides that the only means for her survival is to nuke one or both of these locations with the nuclear bombs that she’s never acknowledged as having?
  • That would certainly be a rousing coming-out party as being a member of the nuclear nations club.

  • This would have the effect of very quickly changing the logistics on the ground.
  • It would set the stage for Israel to gain land mass so as to bring a semblance of security to her people, which they certainly don’t enjoy today.
  • This is turn would lead to the circumstances described in Ezekiel 38 that can bring fulfillment to this major prophecy of the Gog-Magog war.
  • As it currently stands, aside from Russia, Iran, and Turkey being positioned in Syria in the Golan Heights, Israel does not have the peace from dwelling securely in a land without wall, bars, or gates.
  • If Ezekiel is to happen this side of the Tribulation – which I believe is most reasonable prophetically. . .
  • Then something major must happen between now and then – and relatively soon – given how close the Tribulation is upon us.

  • There you go.
  • I’ve thrown down the gauntlet.
  • I’d love to see other Bible prophecy teachers provide their own explanation, if it differs from mine, as to how all the pieces might come together to fulfill God’s Word in this current time.
  • I hear parts of this but I haven’t come across a comprehensive approach as a thought experiment for how every detail of these prophetic Scriptures tie together.
  • There seems to inevitably be something missing.
  • The thinking was that Ezekiel 38 was on the cusp of happening.
  • The problem was that Israel didn’t meet the prophetic conditions of dwelling securely without wall, bars, and gates.
  • She still doesn’t.
  • How does she there?
  • Has anyone listening to this found anyone else that puts all these puzzle pieces together?

  • As the Chinese proverb goes, we are indeed living in interesting times.
  • I personally believe the Rapture has to happen prior to sometime in 2025 at the latest.
  • The comprehensive signs of the Tribulation warn us that it simply cannot be much longer until that seminal world event occurs. . .
  • In my reckoning, right in line with Agenda 2030.
  • Because circumstances and events in this world take time to develop – despite everything being speeded up. . .
  • This means the Rapture has to come soon so that everything else can fall into place.

  • As always, God is sovereign and will fulfill His Word at just the right time.
  • For our part, if we remain faithful to the end – whenever that end happens – that will please the Lord immensely.

Thanks for the updates. It is interesting about those dates as we try to set dates but it is God who is calling the shots on all things and he will bring all things together as he has set out from the beginning of time. So my take would be is to be alert, lamps trimmed and filled with oil, walking out what Yeshua has called us to be, lights and salt to a perishing world.

Hey Gary, I’ve listened to Bill Salus on the timing of the wars yet to be fulfilled and he probably has more understanding of a timeline than anyone. Nevertheless, I still don’t see how the pieces fit together. I know they do, but they are cloudy to me.

Rapture by 2025?! Please LORD! Every single day, I am grieved to my very soul over what is happening. We are at war. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. As a woman, God did not make me for war and I find myself struggling to endure. It’s not the physical battle so much. (Although I now show many symptoms of someone who has literally been poisoned. I live in an area with extremely heavy, daily targeting of chemtrail spraying. I am sensitive to the toxins they are spreading and feel sick most all of the time,) No, it is more the relentless, daily mental and spiritual confrontations. I do not fear death, not at all. If leaving this world is what is necessary to relieve our suffering, then bring it on! Nothing this present existence offers holds any appeal. Try as I might to be cheerful and obedient, to not complain and to bear witness of Jesus, this world holds none of its previous charms…at least not for me. I used to be a Christmas person, but no more. It’s work to put up a tree, shop, wrap gifts, etc. Jesus is the reason and the lights and baubles are distractions.

I heard a message yesterday that was encouraging. The teacher said, “We have no idea just how much evil we, as the Church by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, are holding back by still being here.” That comment really hit me, mainly because I don’t feel like I am contributing much these days. But collectively, all of us are a tremendous barrier against what is coming. God is doing a mighty work for us, through and with us right now. It profoundly answers the nagging question I have, which is “What difference can I make against what is happening?!” And it once again reminds me that we can rest in His promise that there is a deep purpose in all He does, especially through His promise in Romans 8;28 that all things work together for the good of those who love Him AND are called according to His purposes.

We are called, and I certainly long to be called up.

      Robin,
Glad you’ve read some of Salus. Since initially reading his Psalm 83 War book and then subsequent ones, I’ve found his analysis highly credible – as you know since I’ve often cited him – and I love his out-of-the-box thinking.

If you haven’t heard Pastor Dana’s latest dream, this is one that continues to dovetail with much of what I’ve been warning regarding persecution coming to the church: The Doctor Will See You Now dream (12-11-23) 41 min
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGqFKYY5Kzo

I don’t have dreams and I don’t have “a Word from the Lord” per se; I just try to look at the world through a Biblical, prophetic lens, trying to be faithful to God in that approach. (My Commentary today 12-15-23 addresses this to some extent.)

It’s hysterical that the United Nothing and O’Biden are concerned with whose gonna govern Gaza when this is over… if it’s over.

Brings to mind The Ten Commandments when Rameses sent Moses out of Egypt with only a staff for a scepter that he could rule over the scorpions of the desert. Latest vote, I guess, is for Abbas. I agree. Do send Abbas to rule over the scorpions and roaches of Gaza. I think that’s just about all that’s gonna be left of it.

Jerusalem as a cup of trembling – all the nations drunk because of Israel – sure does sound like our present day, doesn’t it?

At one time I read mysteries. However, with the passage of time, I lost interest in them. I read mostly non-fiction. As time went by over the last 30 years, I became addicted to Bible prophecy and spend about 2-3 hours (give or take) a day in that pursuit. No problem since I’ve been retired for 24 years. Paul said he would show us a mystery. He did. I was hooked. I think we will soon see “the fullness of the Gentiles” and then God will act. I agree with the idea of the Rapture occurring by the end of 2025. Or sooner. With hatred against Christians and Jews developing exponentially, it could be sooner in my opinion.

Thanks again Gary, for presenting a whole raft of new ideas for us to muse over. My problem with many of the prophecy teachers has been concerning the 7-year cleanup of weapons after the Ezekiel war is summarily finished by God. If Israel has to flee at the midpoint of the 7-year trib (which she does) then how does this clean up period fit in? This would mean that the Ezekiel war would have to occur at least 3.5 years before the beginning of the trib. wouldn’t it?
I’ve always had trouble too (until now) with the statement that, prior to the Ezekiel war, Israel is living safely without walls etc. I can clearly see that both Hamas and Hezbollah must be gone for this scenario to exist. Seems like things are definitely heating up, almost racing to God’s appointed end now.

    • Reply Gary Ritter

Even crazier in my opinion is the thinking that Ezekiel’s War is the one described at the end of the Millennium. Excuse me, but how does that work since after judgment God cleanses the earth with fire. When would this cleanup happen, and to what purpose?
