Psalm 6:6 – Weary With Moanings

Does the evil and the gathering darkness in the world trouble you? I hope that it does. I pray that the wickedness among men bothers you a lot. If it doesn’t, I have to wonder if you’re awake and are looking at the world through a Biblical, prophetic lens; or if you’re going to church, being fed, and are satisfied in your religious expression. Is everything normal to you, or is there something profoundly wrong with what’s happening throughout society and the culture? Are you fine with the state of affairs all around?  Where are you in all this? I can tell you that I observe all this and grieve.

King David had a similar expression of sorrow in Psalm 6:6-7 where he said:

I am weary with my moaning;

    every night I flood my bed with tears;

    I drench my couch with my weeping.

My eye wastes away because of grief;

    it grows weak because of all my foes.

David observed evil in his midst and it significantly disturbed him.  We don’t know necessarily what brought on this lament for him, but there was much in his surrounding environment that brought him much heartache.

If we look at Psalm 2: 1-3 we can begin to see the basis for what may have affected David; it certainly is the genesis for the things I see:

Why do the nations rage

    and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth set themselves,

    and the rulers take counsel together,

    against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,

“Let us burst their bonds apart

    and cast away their cords from us.”

Who are the rulers of the earth?  We can actually consider them from two perspectives.  They are the dark spiritual forces in high places; and they are the men who worship them and do exactly what they demand.  Let’s look at the human element.

In the world today – as there has always been – there are a very few men (perhaps some women as well) who are part of a wicked elite.  They are an evil cabal comprised of the wealthiest of individuals.  David described them well in Psalm 5:9-10:

For there is no truth in their mouth;

    their inmost self is destruction;

their throat is an open grave;

    they flatter with their tongue.

Make them bear their guilt, O God;

    let them fall by their own counsels;

because of the abundance of their transgressions cast them out,

    for they have rebelled against you.

These men hate God.  They believe they can control the world; that all people will ultimately do everything they tell them to do.  Whether by fancy words or by the sword, they believe that their will, will be done.  They have been plotting and scheming for years.  When one dies, another takes his place.  There is no end of them.  And there is no end to their iniquity.  In the control over humanity that they wish to exert, their rebellion goes against everything that God has made and made good.

The goal of all these evildoers is the Beast System that is rapidly growing in strength and spreading its influence.  Their intent is for it to be pervasive and totally invasive.  Plans are well along through their technology and biotechnology partners to be omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent.  How will they do this?

Surveillance mechanisms are already significantly deployed in many societies.  These will increase so that no one, no where can escape their all-seeing eye.  They are well along in creating nanotechnology that will enable them to track literally everything from its inception to its end.  They have the means through microbial nanobots to label and trace every single item grown or produced on this planet to the smallest component, such as a coffee bean. From this, they can follow where it goes in the supply chain and where it ends up. They can determine if you’ve consumed one of these items, i.e. drank a cup of coffee from a particular bean, and if you’ve eliminated it.  Through the use of artificial intelligence and augmented reality, they are very close to deploying the ability to control what every person in the world buys and sells, from the monetary system to the individual particle.

Does this sound God-like?  It should.  They intend to replace God in every sphere of society on the earth.

Yet, what does God say about these delusions in Psalm 2:4?

He who sits in the heavens laughs;

    the Lord holds them in derision.

Furthermore, David in Psalm 5:4-6 describes God’s response:

For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;

    evil may not dwell with you.

The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;

    you hate all evildoers.

You destroy those who speak lies;

    the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

All that these men do grieves God Himself.  It raises His anger and wrath.  There will be a point when He will bring them to account.  In fact, Psalm 6:10 tells us:

All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;

    they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.

Regardless of the power that these men wield.  Despite the authority they exert on the earth.  Notwithstanding the demonic force behind them, a time is coming that they will perish in an instant.

When is that moment when God will rise up and say, “Enough!” During the 7-year Tribulation, He will pour out His judgment. They will know that He is God and they are but mere men. However, even with the might of the natural world arrayed against them through the catastrophes that God unleashes, they will not surrender. Instead, they will shake their fists at God in their hatred and disdain. So, He will cause them to gather at Megiddo, on the plains of Armageddon, for a final massive attack on God and His people Israel. They will think with their amassed armies that they will prevail; that nothing God does can stop them.

Is it any wonder God laughs at them in derision {Psalm 2:4)? What does Revelation 19:15 say of this encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns?

From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

Nothing will remain of these evil, arrogant, prideful men and all their followers.  All will perish.

The tears that I and all of you currently weep for what such wicked people are currently implementing, and what we see is the result of the blackest of hearts as they corrupt little children to destroy their innocence; all this will end in the blink of an eye.  It is why God says that vengeance is His.  We can do nothing.  He can do everything.

It won’t be long.  Our sorrow will turn to joy.  The King is coming!  Our hope and confidence in His promises will soon be realized.
