Won’t it take the world by surprise when God does move, act, and judge?  Won’t it shock most of the church in its worldly delusion?

In ancient Israel, God sent His prophets to warn the people that they were walking a treacherous path, and that they were crossing red lines they shouldn’t have come near.  Interestingly enough, God also spoke to other nations, warning them that the combination of their abominable practices and their intent to harm the apple of His eye were dangerous to their health and well-being.

No matter.  No one took the prophets seriously, whether the rulers in Israel or the kings of hostile nations.  False prophets arose and foretold good times for all.  Victory would come in battle and abundance would grace the land.  Unfortunately for those who heeded these deceitful portents of blessings, it was God’s Word that prevailed.  His patience was longsuffering, but a time came that it ran out.  Nobody expected that ever to happen.  As a result, the “suddenlies” of God inevitably came.  The people’s response?  “Why us, God?  What did we do to deserve this?”

God’s reply was something to the effect that they had turned away from Him to worship other gods and partook of the perversions of the nations that surrounded Israel.  Beyond that, they cheated and harmed women, children, and the poor.

Was there anything they did which was worthwhile in His eyes?  Well, they argued, “We’ve continued to make sacrifices.”  And, of course, God said, “Let’s talk about that.”  Through the prophet in 1 Samuel 15:22, to ears that wouldn’t hear, He instructed:

“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.”

Disobeying God with the people doing their own thing was extremely problematic.

Adding to Israel’s self-induced woes was that fact that when the people worshiped foreign gods, they often did so by shedding innocent blood.  How many children and virgins were sacrificed to appease Molech by fire?  Sadly, God’s Chosen People preferred to be looked upon favorably by other nations and to follow their ways.  It’s bad that pagans either don’t know the One true God or reject Him, but it’s worse when those who should fear, revere, and obey Him choose not to do so.

For Israel’s disobedience, God brought judgment and punishment.  Twice Israel angered God to such an extent that He allowed them to be overrun and destroyed as a nation, first following the invasions of Assyria and Babylon, then in the aftermath of their rejection of Jesus by the Roman Empire.  Isaiah 9:13-17 captures a sense of this:

The people did not turn to him who struck them,
nor inquire of the Lord of hosts.
So the Lord cut off from Israel head and tail,
palm branch and reed in one day—
the elder and honored man is the head,
and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail;
for those who guide this people have been leading them astray,
and those who are guided by them are swallowed up.
Therefore the Lord does not rejoice over their young men,
and has no compassion on their fatherless and widows;
for everyone is godless and an evildoer,
and every mouth speaks folly.
For all this his anger has not turned away,
and his hand is stretched out still.

Fortunately for Israel and for us today, God’s love and mercy have brought salvation and blessing to the world through Jesus coming from Israel, and His face will shine once more in glory upon Israel after the coming difficult days of the Tribulation.

But that’s a major point in the final verse just quoted.  God continues to harbor anger toward Israel because of her casting Jesus aside when she should have known better.  Bad things are still slated to come upon Israel.  Yet the ironic thing is that they will come in God’s timing.  Thus, if in the current Hamas conflict, He protects Israel and provides for her, then He will – since Israel was and is the apple of His eye.  Very few people understand this.  God hates the sins of Israel, and they anger Him immensely.  However, Israel was chosen by Him and is allegorically His beloved wife.  As a prostitute, she must pay for her transgressions, but once that happens, He will welcome her home and forgive all her iniquities – just like the typology inherent in the narrative of the prophet Hosea with his wife Gomer.

Typology in the Biblical narrative is a real thing.  What happened in Israel because the people turned from God is occurring today in America and the world at large.

Taking note from the Isaiah passage, in our nation think of the analogy of the elder and honored man who is the head.  Who does that make you think of?  Bingo, if you said Joe Biden!  Obviously his honor comes only because of the office he holds.  He has done nothing to show or reflect that honor – quite the contrary.

How about the prophet teaching lies as the tail?  We have a couple possibilities here – maybe both work.  NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) prophets and apostles come to mind, plus the many pastors promoting woke ideology, and even those less-woke pastors who ignore Bible prophecy.  All is well with the world – don’t you forget it!

But the reality is that America – a nation much blessed by God in the past – has become a godless abomination.  Will the Lord cut off both head and tail in our nation in one day as foretold of Israel by Isaiah?  There’s certainly nothing we can point toward which indicates anything other than the evil we have embraced as a people – both outside and inside the church.  We’ve covered the reasons numerous times.  You know all the depravity that we hold dear in these wicked days.  Perhaps worse, as a nation, we love to kill the unborn.  We shed their blood on our own ground and promote abortion throughout the world as a stipulation for receiving our largess.  If any country refuses, we withhold funding for favored projects.

It’s not just the ground crying out here in America for all the shedding of innocent blood, the planet groans against us.  How much longer can this go on?

The point of no return has been breached.  We’ve crossed that line in the sand.  God’s wrath is about to be unleashed in its fullness.  Just as Isaiah said of Isael, so he says to us concerning the Lord:

For all this his anger has not turned away,
and his hand is stretched out still.

Watch for it.

    Dear Gary, you are so right about psalm 83 and it will happen any moment but Egypt won’t be destroyed yet. I’m also expecting Germany to destroy Iran very soon. Why are things so bad? It’s because the the 7 year tribulation started Sept 16 Feast of trumpets 2023. This means that the Great Trib will start at Passover 2027 actually we’ll have 30 days to go to Jordan. I expect psalm 83 at or before this years Feast of Trumpets. This will give the Jews 2 1/2 years to get the 3rd temple completed before 2027. Gary, I agree with your work I’m just adding a few things, hope you don’t mind. I plan to be on board that eagle with the woman of Revelation, eat manna and be protected for 3 1/2 yrs (during GT). Love your work, your friend bob wheeler ps Your people and my family and friends will ride the Eagle together! bye and God bless

    Gary, one other thing are you aware that Yahweh Created Adam on Feast of Tabernacles 4,004 and Yahweh was born on Feast of Trumpets exactly 4,000 years apart. Same day, same hour, same minute apart. Adam was 33 1/2 when he sinned on Passover 3,970 BC add 2,030 years together to make exactly on the Feast of Trumpets 2030 AD 6,000 years of sin on this Earth. I expect the 1st resurrection to be on this date and Jesus and his angels coming in the clouds. He will return in 10 days Day of Atonement or 15 days Feast of Tabernacles while the bowls of wrath are poured out on all the earth. Then our King will wipe out all armies of the Earth and take his rule over the Earth and about 2 billion people that will be left. Amen and God bless
