Awaken Bible Prophesy Update 4-12-23: The Curse on Canaan

What if I told you that one incident on this side of the worldwide flood that God sent to judge all creation set the stage in our current times for the Days of Noah and the next judgment as Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24?  What if I could help you see that where we are today, so very close to God’s final judgment upon this world, actually dates all the way back to the period sometime following when Noah’s ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat?

I believe I can do just that by relating what occurred in Noah’s family, which was such an abomination in the eyes of God, that it has been a defining aspect in this world ever since.

When you read Genesis 9:20-27, what do you understand from this event as you come away from it?  We’ll read it momentarily, but do you – as many Bible study notes explain – simply see what happened as someone mocking and making fun of another?  Have you been taught that it was a homosexual act?  Maybe you’ve read it in passing, and like so many other extremely important passages in the Bible, you didn’t quite understand its implications so you ignored it?  When we neglect to dig into the deeper meaning of certain narratives that God has given us so that we can more thoroughly understand the intense spiritual battle around us, we fail God, because He wants us to think, and He desires that we know His Word more deeply by searching Scripture so that we are not ignorant in these final days.

Buckle up, you’re probably in for a shock as we delve into this, but my hope is that it will enable you to better understand the entire Biblical narrative just a little better.

Let’s pray, and read God’s Word – this very passage we’ll deal with, and reveal some very interesting truths.

<PRAY>

Scripture:

Genesis 9:18-27

The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.) These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the people of the whole earth were dispersed.

Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard. He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside. Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned backward, and they did not see their father’s nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, he said,

“Cursed be Canaan;
a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.”

He also said,

“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem;
and let Canaan be his servant.
May God enlarge Japheth,
and let him dwell in the tents of Shem,
and let Canaan be his servant.”

The Curse on Canaan

  • As we begin our study, we see that Noah had three sons
  • We know from Genesis 6:18 that each of these sons had a wife as did Noah
  • Thus, there were 8 people on the ark
  • Some estimates put it that there may have been billions of people on the earth at the time of the Flood
  • Can you imagine?
  • Let’s say: Some 4 billion people!
  • Out of all those, God saved only 8
  • Now we know from many other studies we’ve done that because a contingent of God’s sons in the heavenlies rebelled, came to earth, and procreated with human women, the resulting offspring of Nephilim and the subsequent depravity throughout the entire planet was off the charts
  • It led to most – if not all – of the peoples – all 4 billion of them, or however many there were . . . it led to the corruption of their DNA
  • No longer did they have pure human blood
  • Rather, it was co-mingled with that of God’s rebellious divine sons, and with that of the Nephilim in their lustful taking of human women
  • The Biblical text tells us that only Noah was righteous, i.e. only he had pure human DNA and untainted blood
  • I think we can safely also say that Mrs. Noah and the three sons likewise were purebred human, so to speak
  • We can’t necessarily say that about the wives, one in particular – but more on that in a bit
  • From Noah’s three sons, the entire world was repopulated
  • Just as God had commanded Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28 to:

“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion

  • . . . so God also gave this same command to Noah’s family in Genesis 9:1,7
  • That was a big order for this little family
  • Especially when you consider the probable number of people before the flood and realize that EVERY – SINGLE – ONE of them perished
  • The earth was completely uninhabited except for this intrepid little remnant of survivors that God had redeemed in a pre-Trib-Rapture-like experience of deliverance

  • For literally hundreds of years, Noah had been a carpenter
  • After the flood, he needed to learn new skills in order to survive and flourish
  • The text in Genesis 9:20 tells us that Noah began to be
  • He started becoming something he had not done or perhaps practiced for many, many years
  • As a carpenter and on task to accomplish what God had set forth for him, it’s doubtful that Noah partook of much, if any, wine in those days of building the ark
  • He had a massive task and no time to waste on farming or on casual drinking
  • Forgive me for this, but I have to insert a funny, and hopefully not too risqué, statement that I recently heard
  • I’ll put it in the context of Noah building his ark . . .
  • He was like a mosquito in a nudist colony – so much work to do!
  • As a result of all this work and the resulting flood, in the new, pristine world that Noah and his family entered, he became a farmer – a man of the soil
  • He probably planted many other things, but primarily for our narrative, he planted a vineyard
  • We don’t have any sense of timing in all this
  • Many years could have gone by – maybe even 20 years or so – we just don’t know
  • That uncertainty plays into this account
  • Not being much of a drinker – perhaps a complete teetotaler prior to this, Noah drank the fruit of his fields and became drunk
  • Not only that, but for some reason he became naked in his drunken state
  • This is where everything takes a very dark turn
  • Let’s recall Genesis 9:22:

And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside.

  • As I mentioned in the introduction, some Bible commentators have explained this passage either as simply an incident whereby Ham mocked his father for being drunk and naked, or certainly worse, that Ham took advantage of his father’s condition through a homosexual act
  • But that’s not what the text itself implies
  • To understand this, we have to consider what God commands in Leviticus 18 written by Moses many years later
  • First, here is Leviticus 18:1-5:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, I am the Lord your God. You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.

  • Because of what the Israelites had been exposed to in Egypt for 400 years, they were not to emulate the practices of those peoples
  • Moreover, the pagan nations surrounding the Promised Land of Canaan and those living directly in it – this land that would become the nation of Israel – all the people inhabiting this land practiced many ways of living that were contrary to God and His intent
  • God made it very clear that the Israelites were not to do such things
  • There were to live according to how the Lord taught them
  • If they disobeyed, there would be consequences
  • Moving further in the chapter to Leviticus 18:24-30, we see what these consequences are:

“Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, and the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. But you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. For everyone who does any of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people. So keep my charge never to practice any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.”

  • These practices – one of many which we’ll get to in a moment – caused people to be unclean before the Lord
  • In fact, they were abominations in His sight
  • By doing what the world around them did, the Israelites would suffer the same fate as those other pagan nations
  • God would cause the land to vomit them out as a people
  • Individually, anyone who did such things would be cut off from God’s people
  • In other words, they would die for their transgression
  • What does all this have to do with our text in Genesis 9?
  • Again, here is the money quote from Genesis 9:22: And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father
  • Leviticus 18:6-7 enables us to understand what really happened:

“None of you shall approach any one of his close relatives to uncover nakedness. I am the Lord. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her nakedness.

  • The term the nakedness of your father, in fact, refers to the nakedness of one’s mother
  • This is a euphemism for – or a synonym for, i.e. a polite way of saying – sexual intercourse
  • By uncovering the nakedness of his father, Ham uncovered his mother’s nakedness, which means that sexual intercourse with his mother occurred
  • Let me repeat these two verses:

“None of you shall approach any one of his close relatives to uncover nakedness. I am the Lord. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her nakedness.

  • How could it happen that Ham did this?
  • The text doesn’t explicitly tell us, but let’s use some reasoning
  • If all that happened with Noah was that he got drunk, why would he throw off his clothes?
  • Back in your pre-Christ days, when you got drunk, is that what you automatically did?
  • Probably not – right?
  • But if you were with the opposite sex and both of you got drunk, were your inhibitions greatly lowered – possibly leading to a drunken sexual interaction?
  • I think that Mrs. Noah was right there with Noah himself, that she got drunk right along with him, and they threw off their clothing and had sexual intercourse
  • Now, they were married, so there’s nothing wrong with that
  • However, we have the situation where Ham wandered into the tent, either accidentally or on purpose
  • Maybe he was drunk as well – or maybe not
  • It doesn’t really matter
  • He uncovered the nakedness of his father, which was the nakedness of his mother . . . meaning Ham had intercourse with his mother
  • Something perverse happened between Ham and his mother
  • But that’s not all
  • We have to ask the question why the text gives us these various references to Canaan
  • Ham was the father of Canaan
  • We see that emphasis in Genesis 9:18,22
  • Then, for some reason, Canaan is cursed, which Genesis 9:24-25 tells us:

When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son [i.e. Ham] had done to him, he said,

“Cursed be Canaan;
a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.”

  • Noah knew what Ham had done to him
  • In reality, Noah knew that Ham had violated his mother
  • Do we then have a case of the sins of the father passing to the son in this curse, i.e. the sin of Ham falling upon Canaan?
  • There are various verses that seem to contradict this idea but there are good explanations for that beyond the scope of this discussion
  • If we just consider Exodus 20:5 – part of the 2nd Commandment – we see this as a very real possibility:

You shall not bow down to them [i.e. to pagan gods and idols] or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me

  • Thus, Ham’s son Canaan may have been cursed for the actions of his father
  • But why Canaan?
  • He was the youngest of Ham’s sons, having three older brothers
  • Why wouldn’t Noah curse Cush, Egypt, or Put rather than Canaan?
  • As I mentioned earlier, we don’t have a good grasp of when this happened in relation to when the ark settled on the mountain, the waters receded, and Noah began his vineyard
  • When the family got off the boat, there were still only 8 people
  • No children had yet been born to Noah’s sons and their wives
  • Yet by the time of this incident, Ham has four children, Canaan being the youngest
  • How old was Canaan when this happened?
  • We don’t know
  • But again, why specifically curse Canaan?
  • Once more, I have a theory
  • I think that somehow Ham involved Canaan in this despicable act of having intercourse with his mother
  • I believe that somehow Canaan also was complicit
  • If that’s the case, it’s like a double whammy on Canaan
  • Not only were the sins of his father Ham visited upon him, but he committed transgression as well
  • I think we see this play out in a couple ways
  • The next two verses Genesis 9:26-27 give us this odd addition to the curse on Canaan:

He [Noah] also said,

“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem;
and let Canaan be his servant.

May God enlarge Japheth,
and let him dwell in the tents of Shem,
and let Canaan be his servant.”

  • In some way, Canaan and his descendants would be subservient to his Ham’s brothers, his uncles, Shem and Japheth
  • That being the case, we have to see how this occurred
  • Does it actually relate to this terrible sin of Ham, and perhaps Canaan as well, having sexual relations with Mrs. Noah – Ham’s mother; Canaan’s grandmother?
  • When we understand this backstory, perhaps the Table of Nations recounted in Genesis 10 begins to be of more interest than you previously thought
  • Genesis 10:6 tells us that Ham himself had four sons, the youngest of whom was apparently Canaan as I noted a moment ago
  • Since Canaan is the person of interest here, what do we learn as to his sons?
  • Here is Genesis 10:15-20:

Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth, and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites dispersed. And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon in the direction of Gerar as far as Gaza, and in the direction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations.

  • Canaan’s sons are quite interesting to us
  • Look at their names:

Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth, and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites

  • Not mentioned here, perhaps because they were another generation of descendants, i.e. children of one of these tribes, were also these who are counted as descending from Canaan:
    • Amalekites
    • Anakim
    • Perizzites
    • Hittites

  • Why do I say these tribes – these nations – are interesting?
  • It is because all or most of these were the giant tribes known as Rephaim – themselves also called Nephilim
  • In other words, these peoples – coming from the line of Ham and Canaan were giants on this side of the Flood
  • How might that have happened?
  • Why only through Ham and Canaan?
  • We can be secure in our belief that Noah, his wife, and his three sons were all of pure human blood
  • In other words, none of them had corrupted DNA from the Nephilim debacle from before the Flood
  • We can’t say that for a certainty regarding the wives of the sons
  • Again, we have to venture into speculation – but logical speculation . . .
  • And here’s what I think that makes the most sense out of this family tree that somehow resulted in giant tribes . . .
  • I believe that Ham’s wife carried a recessive gene for the Nephilim
  • It might have remained recessive had it not been for the sins of Ham and probably Canaan
  • Because of those trespasses, it very well may be that God activated that recessive gene so that Canaan’s children inherited it
  • It would be for this reason that only his sons are counted among the Rephaim this side of the Flood – thus it was upon the line of Canaan that Noah’s curse took effect
  • Another aspect of Ham’s wife carrying a Nephilim recessive gene is that she could very well have been a pagan woman who remained so
  • In other words, we have no evidence that she was necessarily a believer in God
  • That being the case, she may have directly influenced Ham’s actions as well as those of her son Canaan
  • Leviticus 18 warns very strongly against emulating the actions of the pagans, specifically in regard to sexual immorality
  • Look at the chapter – there are a lot of combinations of incest and family-related sexual perversions that God wants His people to have nothing to do with
  • These things could have shown up immediately after the flood in the person of Mrs. Ham and then through Canaan were passed on to the many descendent tribes

  • Now, consider the rest of what Noah decreed over Canaan
  • He said that he – Canaan, and thus his descendants – would be subservient to Ham’s brothers Shem and Japheth
  • What happened when Israel came into the Promised Land?
  • These nations descended from Canaan inhabited it
  • The typical list we get is what I call the Big 6 shown in at least 14 passages (e.g. Exodus 3:8, Exodus 23:23, Deuteronomy 7;1, Joshua 3:10, etc.)
  • Here’s one such verse from Joshua 24:11 (which also adds the Girgashites as a 7th nation in the list):

And you went over the Jordan and came to Jericho, and the leaders of Jericho fought against you, and also the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And I gave them into your hand.

  • The Amalekites and Anakim were also major players among the giants probably coming along in subsequent generations
  • God worked through His people Israel with the intent to destroy them all
  • But they didn’t complete the task and many from the tribes remained
  • Do you recall the account of the Gibeonite tribe that fooled Joshua?
  • Joshua 9:7 tells us that the Gibeonites were Hivites
  • Because of the vow Joshua took regarding them, the Israelites couldn’t eliminate them so they made them servants
  • In the time of Rehoboam, Solomon’s son when Israel was divided into the Northern and Southern Kings, Jeroboam rose up against Rehoboam
  • The people he represented were those who had been forced labor, i.e. slaves, under Solomon to build the Lord’s temple and Solomon’s residence
  • Guess who these people were?
  • Note 1 Kings 9:20-21:

All the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel—their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel were unable to devote to destruction—these Solomon drafted to be slaves, and so they are to this day.

  • These were the very same tribes descended from Canaan who had suffered under Noah’s curse that they would be servants to the descendants of Ham’s brothers
  • There’s one additional piece of evidence I need to present before going on
  • It’s simply the proof that these tribes such as the Amorites, etc. did indeed have giant stock
  • This is not to say that every person within them was a giant, but certainly giants, i.e. those with the manifestation of corrupted DNA were present
  • There are many examples to verify this in the Old Testament
  • Among the most famous comes from Numbers 13 where recounts the sending of the 12 spies into the land of Canaan and their fearful report
  • Here is Numbers 13:28-29, 32-33:

However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.”

So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”

  • The spies weren’t exaggerating
  • They saw the peoples of these giant tribes and feared for their lives
  • Then there’s Deuteronomy 3:8,11,13 describing Kings Og and Sihon:

So we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon

(For only Og the king of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bed was a bed of iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the Ammonites? Nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, according to the common cubit.)

. . . All that portion of Bashan is called the land of Rephaim.

  • Our last example comes from the period when David began finally rooting out the last of the giants beginning with Goliath
  • Goliath is known as a Philistine from Gath, but his lineage is as a Gittite coming from the Amorites
  • Got Questions (gotquestions.org) discusses this:

The Anakim, a race of giants left over from the earlier Canaanite population, settled in Gath after Joshua drove them out of the Promised Land (Joshua 11:22). Gath is known primarily as the home of the giant Goliath who was killed by an unlikely hero named David (1 Samuel 17:4). Later in his life, David led a series of battles against the Philistines; in those skirmishes, four giants who lived in Gath were killed (2 Samuel 21:22), including one described as “a man of great stature, who had six fingers on each hand, and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number, and he also was descended from the giants” (2 Samuel 21:20, ESV).

  • Here also is an interesting quote from the National Institutes of Health of all places:

The giants from Gath were present after the Flood. One possible answer to the often raised question of why the Nephilim giants, present before the Flood were not eradicated by it, could be that new mutations in the AIP gene (or other genes) caused new families of giants to appear. There is no evidence in the Bible to suggest that the Nephilim, Rephaim or Anakim were directly related but they may have had some relations and intertwined lineage. If Goliath was the son of Rapha, he is likely to be descended from the Rephaim, but being brought up in Gath, an ancient stronghold of the Anakim, could suggest he may also have had some Anakim relatives, making his champion status even more significant in the ancient world.

  • The bottom line is that all these giant tribes came from Ham through Canaan

  • As an aside . . .
  • Who were the Israelites descended from?
  • Shem – the brother of Ham, the uncle of Canaan
  • In fact, Luke 3:36 recounting Jesus’ genealogy details this for us
  • We also see in Genesis 11:26 that Abram/Abraham – the father of the Israelites – came through Shem

  • To repeat what I said a moment ago, it appears as if the line of giants – i.e. those with corrupted Nephilim blood – were finally eradicated by King David
  • The question thus becomes: Why do we care about this whole sordid narrative today?
  • I think it all circles back to a two-fold problem:
    • #1 – the worship of pagan gods
    • #2 – sexual sin and depravity that results from this anti-God lifestyle
  • The fact is that the Flood didn’t eradicate either of these two issues
  • They came right back onto the scene shortly thereafter
  • Ham’s, and possibly Canaan’s, sexual perversions brought the same types of players back into the world that would rise up against God and His people
  • They opened the door for the dark spiritual realm to come once more into the lives of the people on the earth and to reinitiate all their abominable practices
  • Sexual immorality was a huge problem for the Israelites
  • Sex lured them into worshiping pagan gods who were literally the forefathers of the giant tribes
  • Once the giants were eliminated, sexual depravity remained
  • Not only that, but unclean spirits – demons – the residue, if you will, of the Nephilim when they perished – remained and are with us to this day
  • God’s punishment upon the rebellious host that descended to earth to procreate with human women (Genesis 6:1-4) and were subsequently banished to the lowest abyss in hell (Jude 6, 2 Peter 2:4) didn’t seem to dissuade subsequent heavenly beings from also turning against the Lord
  • God’s sons whom He placed over the nations per Deuteronomy 32:8 (ESV) in the aftermath of the Tower of Babel likewise rebelled so as to set up their own earthly kingdoms for which they will be punished
  • God has already judged them according to Psalm 82
  • We also know that at Satan’s fall, 1/3 of the beings/angels in heaven fell with him – that’s a lot of demonic presence floating around in this world to corrupt mankind whenever possible
  • The lineage of sexual sin runs all the way back to Noah’s son Ham and before that to Genesis 6 and even prior to the Garden with Eve’s temptation
  • When you think about it, doesn’t the serpent’s questioning of God lead to disobeying His commands – many of which deal with sexual immorality because of self-worship?
  • We are now in the time of a repetition of the Days of Noah
  • Other gods of every stripe and persuasion, corruption, perversion, sexual sin and depravity on every side, are the order of the day
  • Here’s an interesting idea for you to consider:
  • When Ham uncovered his father’s nakedness, which was the uncovering of his mother’s nakedness, i.e. having sex with her, he might very well have been the first person to be influenced by the whispering of demons in his ears
  • Think about that
  • In this case, demons telling him that having sex with his mother was a good idea
  • Again, these demonic beings only came about from the bodily death of the Nephilim which released their spiritual aspect – that which we know today as demons
  • For the demons, that worked so well they obviously have made a career out of it
  • Adding to all this is the very real possibility that in one form or another, the demonic realm is actively working with their human minions today to bring back the Nephilim
  • This might be through genetic manipulation or it may be a function of transhumanism
  • We know that during the Tribulation the supernatural will be the order of the day
  • Can we truly rule out that the sexual experiments by so-called alien abductions won’t be part of that?
  • Of course, the UFO-related aliens aren’t from outer space, they are these very same demonic entities that have been operating in the world since the very beginning
  • The Tribulation could be a time of true horrors as cannibalistic Nephilim are unleashed, and/or newly made hybrid creatures from the annals of mythology like cyclops, minotaurs, werewolves, and other horrific beasts come to torment the unbelieving world
  • Don’t discount this
  • There is way too much evidence proving that experiments in genetic manipulation are taking place all over the world
  • These scientists see nothing wrong with that
  • They have no moral inhibition – just like Ham and perhaps Canaan had none because of Ham’s pagan wife, Canaan’s mother
  • To give you one more example of this, here is a quote from a novel titled Portals by Douglas Richards
  • The context is that these two operatives were part of the blackest of the black secret ops group in the American government, somewhere around 2030
  • They have just taken down a high-tech arms dealer with their superior capabilities:

Ashley and I were two of only a handful of Tech-Ops field agents who had revolutionary supercomputers in our brains, allowing us not only to speak telepathically and control equipment, but even surf the Web with our thoughts. The computers in our brains also had enough storage to house the Library of Congress five times over, so even if our internal internet connection was disrupted, as it was now, we could still draw upon a treasure trove of data, not to mention keep a precise record of everything we saw or heard.

The chip also controlled smart contact lenses that we both wore, which allowed us to zoom in on distant objects, produce tactical displays no one else could see, show data to augment whatever was in our field of vision, watch video, and even provide night-vision capabilities.

The implants in our ears could protect against sonic weapons and extend our hearing.

But these were only the beginning of our enhancements. We now had artificial red blood cells coursing through our veins, called respirocytes, which greatly augmented our own blood supply. Artificial cells with many times the oxygen-carrying capacity of the real thing, increasing our endurance many-fold and helping our blood to clot with remarkable speed when injured. We could sprint for an extended period on a single breath and remain underwater for up to eighteen minutes.

We also possessed genetic engineering modifications that enhanced us further. A slight modification of the LPR5 gene resulted in a considerable strengthening of bones, whereas modifications to the myostatin gene resulted in muscles that remained lean but were now far stronger than normal. Several other genetic manipulations conferred superhuman reflexes and provided a form of super-adrenaline that could heighten our performance for extended periods.

  • This is fiction, but is it also predictive because of the technologies currently being perfected
  • What sort of super-soldier capabilities are being engineered today that may be very must like what is described here?
  • What if enhanced people like this are loosed on the world during the Tribulation and programmed for evil?
  • If this kind of research is going on – which it is -and all sorts of genetic mutations are being developed, how long can it be before the world feels their sting?
  • We’ve got everything else going on from climate manipulation, to sexual depravity in every aspect of all cultures around the world, lawlessness is skyrocketing, looming World War 3, and the church is nowhere to be found speaking out to the culture to rein all this in through holiness and righteousness – in fact, in many respects the church is leading the charge into darkness and relegating its people to the depths of hell
  • God’s intent in bringing the Flood was to wipe the world free of all the abominations resulting from the rebellious sons of God and the Nephilim offspring
  • He knew that wouldn’t actually happen, of course
  • The Big Narrative in Scripture is this ongoing spiritual war that will not cease until Jesus returns
  • Evil found a way to slip through the purification of the Flood to once more rise up against God
  • Sadly, even Noah, through his actions, was integral to the subsequent descent of the world back into depravity
  • I admit I’m a broken record on this – but Judgment is coming
  • There is an unbroken thread of rebellion, anti-God fervor, and sexual deviancy that has been with us before and through the Flood to the present
  • It cannot continue for our Lord and Savior to be a just God
  • The era of the mercy of Christ upon the unbelieving world in this Church Age – the Age of Grace – is almost at its end
  • Soon the Lord will come as a Man of War leading the armies of the Host of Heaven
  • If you’re watching this and not prepared by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ for the salvation of your soul, you can do one of three things:
    • #1 – Ignore this message and continue on with your life as though all things will continue as they have since the beginning of time
    • #2 – You can fear and live your life in unbelieving anxiety until it and the terrible events soon to happen in this world consume you
    • #3 – You can fall to your knees and ask the Lord in heartfelt repentance to forgive you and then place all your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for now and all eternity
  • I’ll just tell you that the first two options lead to a drastic fate of torment in the Lake of Fire when Jesus sits in Judgment
  • In other words – those aren’t great choices
  • All this will come to a head very soon
  • Don’t be left behind when Jesus appears for His true church in the clouds at the pre-Tribulation Rapture
  • You’ll have no regrets if you’re ready for that momentous and glorious event, but great distress if you’re not

As always, a fascinating article. Thanks Gary. This answers a LOT of questions I have had for years, one being the appearance of giants after the flood. I believe you satisfactorily answered this one for me. I appreciate all your hard work that you obviously put into this. Amazing!
I just recently read that Israel has a very high percentage of homosexuals; there is also a sizeable percentage of Jews who follow occult religions. According to OneForIsrael, it is much, much more socially preferable to turn to the occult than to Jesus. True Christian believers are usually highly persecuted there. I don’t know why I’m still shocked by these things. . . . . I can see why God’s wrath is about to descend on Israel. It’s all become a repeat of their sad and sordid history of rebellion against the God Who revealed Himself to them in so many wondrous ways. Our prayers are that as many as possible may come to Jesus before it is too late.

      Pam,
If I haven’t mentioned this to you, I recommend Jonathan Cahn’s The Return of the Gods as further explanation for what’s going on in the world. I’m working on a Prophecy Update regarding that which I plan to release Apr 26.

Great insight Gary, your connecting of the dots explains so much and you dare to go where most others will not.

    Hi Gary
This is a fascinating article , thank you.
    Just one question please?
Is it possible that Canaan, the son of Ham was actually the offspring of the illicit union and therefore the curse fell directly on him because of the double recessive gene inherited.
The verses say that he will be a servant to his brothers and then Shem and Japeth are specifically mentioned. Is Canaan their brother?
Perhaps there is a good reason why this is not the case. In any event, I find the whole article fascinating. Thank you
    Anne-Marie

I don’t think I could discount the possibility. The problem as I mentioned is the timing. We don’t have any sense of the years that might have gone by until the vineyard incident or even how long until the various sons were born. Something certainly happened that brought such a curse, but we’re left a little at a loss to pinpointing the event more accurately.

The one point arguing against Canaan being Shem and Japheth’s brother is that he’d also be Ham’s brother and you’d think the text would be a little more specific in that regard. Saying that Canaan would be a servant of them could indeed indicate this, or it could be using the euphemism for a generational brother, so to speak, i.e. a descendant.

Either way, digging into this we see a lot more possibly going on than most people think!

What I found fascinating as well was my speculation that this would potentially have been the first time that the unclean spirits – the demons – let loose from the bodies of the dead Nephilim would have been quite active in the whole episode. If so, they would have been like: “Ka-Ching! Now we have purpose!” (A sad and abominable one at that.)

Before the flood, the wickedness was very great “only evil continually”.
Noah was found righteous in his generations i.e. genetically perfect i.e. uncontaminated. But it doesn’t say his wife was. If she carried a recessive nephilim gene it would have stayed that way except for the possible relations with her son. They still had long lifespans at that time so it would follow that there was every possibility of a pregnancy.
The text does not call Canaan Ham’s brother because the father/son relationship is closer and takes precedence.
Just my thoughts on it. I had previously thought it was a case of Noah being embarrassed and over-reacting. I know we cannot be adamant but this makes much more sense.

Finally catching up…so after reading this I speculated on 2 things…the AntiChrist is probably from my generation (In my early 50s so Gen X)…and he will probably come through Ham’s bloodline. Just a thought.

If he’s Jewish, that could be a possibility. He’s definitely out there waiting for his call one way or the other.
