A Jeremiah Nation

I submit to you that America is a Jeremiah nation in a Jeremiah moment.  This was made clear to me as I came across an article by Michael Snyder on his End of the American Dream blog: http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/something-big-is-coming-pastor-dana-coverstone-just-had-another-prophetic-dream-about-the-month-of-september

Snyder notes two items of importance.

  1. Another prophetic dream by Pastor Dana Coverstone that he recounts as part of his sermon message.
  2. A national call to prayer by Jonathan Cahn.

The morning I came across Snyder’s article, I was praying and asking God: “What do I pray for, Lord?  How do I even pray in these dark times?”  I believe this article is God’s response as an answer to my prayers.

Let me briefly summarize both items.

Another prophetic dream by Pastor Dana Coverstone that he recounts as part of his sermon message.

 This dream followed the same pattern as his previous ones with a calendar and emphasis on a certain month; in this case it was this September 2020.  The message was that the church must have a strong backbone, that there will be a great harvest, and that corruption within the church will be exposed.  Emphasis was placed on the calling of a solemn assembly in this coming month of September.  The assembly of praying saints will face significant spiritual warfare, yet unity in the Body of Christ will develop.  Despite being beaten and broken, people will stand victoriously through the ordeal.  In the midst of this, Jesus speaks to His true church, saying “Arise, My Bride…Prepare to pray…Prepare to see My face…I am coming soon.”

Nowhere was there indication that the Rapture would necessarily happen at this particular time.  Nowhere was there indication that God would stay His hand of judgment on this nation.  The bottom line was that: “Something big is coming.”

A national call to prayer by Jonathan Cahn.

Johnathan Cahn has been a prophetic voice for a number of years.  He has written several books that articulate the messages God has given him.  In obedience to this, he, along with a solid team of ministry leaders, is calling for a day and a season of prayer in September.

Cahn is calling for a solemn assembly.  This is the Mission Statement for the initiative called The Return:

“We need to make an honest inventory of personal as well as corporate (national) sin. In order to rectify them, we must acknowledge these sins, own them, and humble ourselves before the Lord. Pray that the Lord helps us, giving us the spiritual fortitude and grace to not only recognize spiritual deficiency but to be remorseful in spirit, pleading for His mercy and forgiveness.”

If you note the leadership team and advisors to this effort, it is not a creature of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR).  This is important.  Cahn for many years has been warning America of coming judgment, not revival leading to a non-Scriptural, Christianized world that the church hands to Jesus upon His return, as NAR leaders declare will happen.

What does all this mean and where does it lead?

Many in the church have prayed for God’s mercy on this nation; that He would hold off in judgment.  Others of us have wondered when America would reach the tipping point in trying God’s patience.  And make no mistake, we see in the Bible where He reaches that point with Israel.  Should we in America think that we’re immune to this?

I believe that Pastor Dana’s prior dreams have shown that we have passed the point of no return.  You may criticize and say this is pessimistic to the Nth degree.  I humbly submit that it is the best news we who love the Lord can have.  Our time on this earth is drawing to a close.  Soon, we will be with our Lord and Savior.  What could be better than that?  To keep our hearts focused on the things of this world that is not our home?  I don’t think so.

What do I think the Lord is telling me as to how I should pray and what should I pray about?  Is it to turn God’s hand, or is it for the church to rise up and become what it should have been all along?  Exactly what Pastor Dana saw: that the church must have a strong backbone, that there will be a great harvest, and that corruption within the church will be exposed.

Why did I title this essay as I did?  Not that God will relent as the message of Joel 2:12-14 declares that God will turn from the disaster He has planned; rather like in Jeremiah’s time God had determined enough is enough as He says in Jeremiah 11:14:

“Therefore do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf, for I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble.”

Throughout Jeremiah, we see God’s declarations against the apostasy and hostility toward the Lord by Judah, its priests, and its people:

Jeremiah 2:8

The priests did not say, ‘Where is the Lord?’
Those who handle the law did not know me;
the shepherds transgressed against me;
the prophets prophesied by Baal
and went after things that do not profit.

Jeremiah 2:19

Your evil will chastise you,
and your apostasy will reprove you.
Know and see that it is evil and bitter
for you to forsake the Lord your God;
the fear of me is not in you,
declares the Lord God of hosts.

Jeremiah 4:22

“For my people are foolish;
they know me not;
they are stupid children;
they have no understanding.
They are ‘wise’—in doing evil!
But how to do good they know not.”

Jeremiah 5:3

O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth?
You have struck them down,
but they felt no anguish;
you have consumed them,
but they refused to take correction.
They have made their faces harder than rock;
they have refused to repent.

What does God say to all this?

Jeremiah 5:7

“How can I pardon you?
Your children have forsaken me
and have sworn by those who are no gods.
When I fed them to the full,”
they committed adultery
and trooped to the houses of whores.

Jeremiah 5:9

“Shall I not punish them for these things?”
declares the Lord;
“and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?”

The book is filled with such statements.  God has determined that He will not relent and stay His hand of judgment.  All this leads to the most terrible time that will ever come upon this earth: the 7-year Tribulation:

Jeremiah 30:7

Alas! That day is so great
there is none like it;
it is a time of distress for Jacob;
yet he shall be saved out of it.

As we see, there is a hope and a future for Israel.  A few verses back, God promises this:

Jeremiah 30:3

“For behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will restore the fortunes of my people, Israel and Judah,” says the Lord, “and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it.”

The church today has this same hope, although it will play out differently for us.  We who know Jesus as Lord and Savior will be removed from the earth during the time of Jacob’s trouble.  Israel, in its rejection of Christ, must go through it and pay a severe penalty:

Zechariah 13:8-9

In the whole land, declares the Lord,
two thirds shall be cut off and perish,
and one third shall be left alive.
And I will put this third into the fire,
and refine them as one refines silver,
and test them as gold is tested.
They will call upon my name,
and I will answer them.
I will say, ‘They are my people’;
and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

In summary, what’s the bottom line for the church in America as I see it?  I believe events will play out as God has shown Pastor Dana.  November will see great chaos.  The church will be subsequently persecuted prior to the Rapture.  Before all this, in September, many in the church will awaken to prayer and supplication before the Lord so that we might be strengthened and ready to face what is coming.

I realize this is not a message many want to hear.  Who wants more chaos?  Who wants to be persecuted?  Wouldn’t we rather see wholesale revival and for all this to go away?  Indeed.  But, Scripture indicates no such thing.

Now is the time for us as a holy people of God to pray for exactly that which was shown Pastor Dana.  I think that is God’s will for me and for the church so that we will be ready.  Let’s look forward to September with eager anticipation for a deep time with the Lord that enables us to stand boldly for Christ.

Something big is coming.

    That was intense and awesome. Thanks for sending it to me. I am lifeishooey on youtube and Robin McCann on fb. I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring. In the meantime, I am busy shouting out all over social media, the things that are coming and that there is only one escape and that is Yeshua. I never considered being watcher on the wall but, is a blessing nonetheless. It is also very weary work. Many know that these are very scary times but very few know how exciting they are. I am always lookin’ up, even when I ‘m not. \o/ Shalom
