Prophetic Dreams? How Can This Be?

As many people know by now, Pastor Dana Coverstone’s series of prophetic dreams have caused quite a stir.  As I write this, the two videos on the dreams that he posted are starting to close in on two million views.  In addition, others have made videos discussing the dreams, and there are several hundred thousand views of them.  If you are one of the few who hasn’t seen Pastor Dana’s two videos, here are links to my YouTube channel where I posted them along with a few comments:

First video (3 dreams):

Second video (1 dream):

Here’s a brief summary of the dreams so we’re all on the same page for what I have to suggest later concerning them:

Dream #1 – This dream occurred in December 2019.  A calendar flipped into 2020 and brought emphasis on the months of March and June.  The dream effectively showed the rise of COVID-19 with its many health issues, including ventilators, hospitals, masks, newspaper headlines, etc.  It also portrayed the aftermath of the George Floyd shooting on May 25.  This included protesting, rioting, guns, barriers, cities on fire, vultures over cities, and great fear.  The message from the dream was, “Brace yourself.”

Dream #2 – This occurred in late June 2020.  In this dream through calendar emphasis again, the overall impact was one of chaos with armed protesters and anarchy, particularly in November.  Schools were closed, banks were losing money, and politicians were dealing in back rooms.  There was no apparent presence of President Trump as Washington, DC burned and foreign military personnel came in, including Russian, Chinese, and U.N. blue helmets.  The vultures were now attacking.

Dream #3 – This dream occurred the night following Dream #2.  The bottom line of this dream was the move toward a cashless society.  There was no change (i.e. coinage) and small denomination bills ($1 and $5) were soon going away.  The warning was of hyperinflation.

Dream #4 – This dream took place at the very end of June or first of July.  It was a message very specific for the church, mostly in America.  It spoke of great persecution of pastors who preach the true Word of God, with much of the opposition arising from backsliders within the church and those who disagree with the true Gospel message of repentance and salvation through Christ alone.  It was a message of wolves among sheep and extremely unpleasant trials and tribulations for those who truly follow Jesus Christ.

If you’ve read any of my various other essays, you may have noticed that what I try to do is to reason through something, i.e. to attempt to apply a logical framework to the Scriptures, including Bible prophecy.  I ask the questions: “How does this work?  How could this play out in various circumstances?”

So, let’s do that with this series of dreams.  Cutting to the chase, the big issue at hand is—assuming the dreams are from God and the events portrayed will occur—how do they line up with the Rapture of the church?  Setting aside the first dream, as those events have already happened, where might the Rapture occur within the timeline of these dreams?  And please: I’m not date setting.  I’m saying, let’s reason together.  I’m speculating under an assumption that the dreams are from God.  If so, how does this all fit together?

One of the interesting aspects of Bible prophecy is that many times the visions of the prophets didn’t simply pertain to a single event.  There was a telescoping aspect to the prophecies which the prophets couldn’t see.  Thus, an initial fulfillment of a prophecy might be near-term, while a later fulfillment would be sometime in the future.  Yet, to the prophet, it all seemed as though, and was communicated as if, everything took place all at once.

If we look particularly at Dream #2 in this way, we might make more sense of it.  The major objection I’ve heard pertains to the Russian, Chinese, and U.N. troops present in Washington, DC.  That doesn’t seem to make sense today, before the election, even with the efforts of many to bring down the country.

Another objection that Dream #4 brings is persecution of the church in America.  Certainly it’s rising, but will it reach the level of intensity portrayed in the dream prior to this fall?  Obviously, circumstances on the ground are rapidly changing, but to reach this point the dream conveys before the election seems to be a stretch.

Some folks have speculated that to make Dream #2 a reality, the church has to be Raptured out.  There are too many patriots, conservatives, and Christians, especially in our military, for us to allow these foreign troops on our soil.  The problem with this scenario is Dream #4.  Will the church really be persecuted to that degree prior to November, then the Rapture occurs, and then all this other chaos comes forth?  I personally don’t see it.

That takes us to the telescoping effect.  Once we hit November, all hell breaks loose according to the dream.  I can see this happening, particularly with a Trump victory in the election, and the Left erupts in violence.  I don’t like this aspect, but perhaps something happens to the president—the reason he’s not a factor.

At that point, it’s all downhill.  Leaving aside how the government would look if the head were removed, this country could certainly devolve into more chaos.  The economy could tank like crazy, all the debt that’s been accumulated could cause serious problems, the Federal Reserve could print more and more money, and the prophesied hyperinflation could come about.  As these events occur, if the Left has its say, the church could then be persecuted as the dream contends it will.  That final message in Dream #4 was for us to: “Brace yourself and endure to the end.”

Sometime after this—however long we as Christ-followers must endure—then the Rapture occurs.  Note that I’m still placing all this within a pre-Tribulation Rapture scenario.  The tribulation we must endure is not THE Tribulation, but more on a par with what our brothers and sisters in Christ have gone through in the 10-40 Window for many years.

None of this is pleasant.  The ideal would be for God to remove us from the earth prior to all this that might take place.  We can hope and pray that He will.  However, once more under the assumption that the dreams are from God, and despite the doctrine of imminence which I believe in, there may be more of this world that we’ll have to see and respond to before our blessed hope materializes.

God will deliver us from the wrath to come.  We who are pre-Tribbers believe in that.  Jesus Christ is our only hope.  I think we should take God’s Word to Pastor Dana to heart.  We should brace ourselves.  More may very well be coming our way.  But in all things, we must endure to the end.

Pastor Dana’s Coming Persecution Dream

This small-town pastor reminds me of David Wilkerson.  Wilkerson was a rural Pennsylvania pastor who received a Word from God that he should go to New York City.  The big city was completely out of Wilkerson’s comfort zone, but he was obedient and went.  From his hearing God’s voice and obeying His direction, Wilkerson ended up founding Teen Challenge, which today is an international ministry dedicated to delivering men and women of all ages from drug and alcohol addictions.  Teen Challenge works because it’s based on salvation through Jesus Christ alone.  He is the only One who can deliver such freedom.

We’re in another time and place now.  The return of Jesus is very near.  This is the reason the world has gone crazy.  Every marker, every sign, that Jesus and His Apostles foretold are coming to pass and converge in this very hour.  It doesn’t surprise me that God would use someone completely unknown to bring this message of persecution.  As a volunteer with Voice of the Martyrs for many years, I’ve long believed that the church in America must suffer persecution similar to that of our brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world.

If this prophetic dream is true – and I believe it is – the church truly needs to brace itself.  True believers in Christ need to make the determination NOW to stand when the raging seas threaten to overwhelm.  If people wait until the scourge is upon them, it will be too late, and they’ll be swept away.

Please share this video with others in your church and with unbelievers.  It’s not too late for all these who don’t believe to get right with God through Christ.  But Jesus will soon snatch away His faithful followers from the earth and then it’ll be too late.  Use this message.  Perhaps God will be merciful upon one who hears and he or she will believe.

Scripture – Dreams – Or Both?

The intense prophetic dreams of a Kentucky pastor have recently attracted over 1 million YouTube viewers.  Pastor Dana Coverstone of Living Word Ministries in Burkesville, KY has had a series of dreams that – if true – are highly disturbing in their accuracy.  Here is the video at my YouTube channel:

The caveat of “if true” is the key aspect in examining these prophetic dreams.  From my perspective, there are two issues that seemingly contradict.  The question is: Can they be reconciled?

Pastor Dana’s initial dream in December spoke of the pandemic with its chaos, and the subsequent rioting we’ve seen in the aftermath of the George Floyd incident.  Assuming the pastor had this dream in December as he says, then its accuracy is right on.

The dream of things to come this fall is downright horrendous.  It speaks of terrible anarchy throughout the nation, along with Christian persecution.  Again, assuming this dream is from God, how do we respond?

Given Scripture and the requirement for prophecy to be completely, accurately fulfilled, the first issue we have to deal with is how this potential lawlessness works in conjunction with the Days of Noah necessity in Matthew 24:37-38 that life will be normal:

“For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,”

If things are supposed to be going along swimmingly when the Rapture comes, how can there be such disorder?

But wait, there’s a second consideration.  What about earlier in this chapter in Matthew 24:9-10 where it speaks of tribulation as part of the birth pains?

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.”

Is this referring to just Israel or to the entire world?  Are Christians affected by this?  Since the passage talks of kingdoms and wars and nations, it certainly appears to reflect a worldwide situation.

As a longtime volunteer with Voice of the Martyrs, I’ve seen the persecution of our brothers and sisters in Christ and grieved over it.  I’ve also long pondered how we in America could escape the tribulations that those in the 10-40 Window endure.  Will we really leave this earth without the sorrows that Jesus says we’ll have?  Are the tribulations we endure only a result of having too much wealth?

If not; if we in America will be subject to physical persecution that could easily come as a result of the anarchy detailed in Pastor Dana’s dream, that would not surprise me in the least.

But again, how do we reconcile a Days of Noah condition with anarchy and persecution of Christians that may be coming down the pike as the dream suggests?  How does the Rapture and the subsequent Tribulation play into all this?

First, the Tribulation.  We have to recognize that tribulation and THE Tribulation are two different things.  We know that lawlessness must arise.  It will reach a fever pitch once the Rapture occurs and the Holy Spirit—the Restrainer—is removed.  However, events on earth typically take time to develop.  They don’t normally happen overnight.  Thus, we’ve been seeing the Romans 1 mindset playing out for some time.  We’ve been seeing the 2 Thessalonians 2 lawlessness increasing, particularly over this last year.  We have no reason to suppose that Christians won’t see a significant increase in tribulation before Jesus snatches us out of here.

Where does this leave us?  How do we get to “normal”?  Here’s a question: Whose normal, and what kind of normal, was Jesus referring to?  That of Christians or of the secular world?

If the “normal” of eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage is for Christians, then we definitely have a conflict of Scripture to resolve.  However, what if that refers to those other than Christians, i.e. the pagan world?  What’s normal to them may not be normal to us in unusual times.

During the rising persecution of the early church in Rome, what do you think the average citizens were doing?  Did they care much about those crazy Christians who wouldn’t say, “Caesar is god”?  I don’t think so.  These citizens simply went about their lives eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.

Do we really have a contradiction as to when and under what circumstances the Rapture might occur?  I don’t think so.  I think we could have this anarchy that destroys America, while Christians become a target.  I think in the soon aftermath of that, life for non-Christians could quickly get back to “normal,” i.e. the new normal.  That wouldn’t be the case for us, but maybe it doesn’t have to be in order for the intent of accurate prophecy to be fulfilled.

Of course, all this hinges on the veracity of Pastor Dana’s dreams.  Are they from God?  Joel 2:28 says that in the last days, your old men will dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.  Was that only for the time of Pentecost and the 1st Century?  I think God has given dreams and visions all along to some people.  Perhaps they’re increasing now.  I personally believe that during the Tribulation is when the greatest fulfillment of this will happen, but that doesn’t negate God giving certain prophetic dreams now.

Can the Rapture occur with the confluence of accurate Scripture plus a God-given dream of anarchy and persecution?  I think so.  How we read and interpret a passage may be partially right, but God may have a slightly different twist in mind.  We have to be careful about being dogmatic (and I’m as guilty as anyone!) about prophetic events and how they’ll play out.  It’s probably the rare individual who gets it all right.  God has the last say, and what we know may not be so.

Pastor Dana’s Prophetic Dreams

As a Bible prophecy guy, I look at the world through a Biblical, prophetic lens.  That means I read what the Word says and apply it to what’s going on in the world.  That’s called exegesis.  The opposite of that is eisegesis, where one takes preconceived notions and reads them into the text.  This leads to false interpretation and understanding.  Only by drawing out of the text through exegesis can we truly know God’s Word and its application to our lives.

Prophetic dreams are common in the Bible.  Because the gifts of the Holy Spirit did not end at the conclusion of the 1st century, as some would argue, people today exhibit those gifts at certain times under the hand of God.  However, there are many today who claim these gifts as well as the mantle of prophet and apostle.  Frankly, in my book, that’s not Biblical.

When someone has a dream, vision, or prophecy, we have to apply the Word of God to it.  Does it line up with what God had His prophets of old declare?  How does it resonate in our spirit?  Using our God-given wisdom and discernment, where do we stand upon hearing what someone tells us that may have come from God?

Because of my concerns about the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), which I’ve written about at length in these blogs, anyone who has read my essays know that I’m very leery of these guys.  As a lay pastor in a Pentecostal church I’m also leery of charismatic excesses, so you won’t find me sharing something like this video below very often.

The Bible is very clear that tribulation will arise as we grow closer to the return of Jesus – and I’m not talking about THE Tribulation.  As a longtime volunteer with Voice of the Martyrs, I’ve said over the years that the American church has it way too easy compared with our brothers and sisters in Christ in places like the 10-40 Window.  I’ve often speculated that something would happen to cause the churches in America to face difficulties in order to bring us more in line with our persecuted brethren overseas.

Well, we’ve seen a lot in this year of 2020 already.  With the upcoming election, I believe we’re going to see and experience a lot more.  As the church, are we ready for these things?  Generally, I have to say no.  The great falling away – the great apostasy – is underway.  Many people in the coming months (years? if the Lord tarries) will deny Christ.  Things will get tough.

Our job as true, Bible-believing, Christ-followers is to dig in, to follow hard after our Lord, and to do that which He has placed us on this earth to do.

This video may shake you.  I hope it does.  We’ll see by December or so how this plays out.  Is Pastor Dana’s vision true or false?  Either way, difficult times are here, and things will get worse before they get better.  But for those of us who know Jesus as Lord and Savior, the best is yet to come!  He will snatch us away soon – very soon.  The Rapture is imminent.  I don’t know what that means timing-wise, but I urge everyone reading this: make sure you’re right with God, and get ready for what’s to come – bad and good – because it’s surely coming!

Prophecy Update: Red-Green Alliance

This video is a prophecy update that explores what is called the Red-Green Alliance.  This alliance is the collaboration of the Marxist Left and the adherents to Islam that hate America and want to tear down and destroy her from within.  The information will likely disturb you, but you must know what is happening in this nation to effectively pray and stand against it.

Prophecy Update: Q & The NWO

This is a prophecy update that discusses Q and the New World Order.  If you’re not familiar with Q and how he is helping President Trump to fight the Deep State and the forces of globalism, this video should be a good introduction for you.

It is a lengthy video, but the beauty of YouTube is that you can watch a portion of it and come back the next day with it picking up right where you left off.  The video is in a class format; I think you’ll find it instructive.

Sow The Wind and Troubling News

Given the news lately, if you haven’t read my Whirlwind Series beginning with Sow The Wind, you may wish to consider doing so.  This is a link to an article from Natural News that says thousands of guillotines are being stockpiled in numerous American cities.  The intent is to kill Christians and conservatives when the time is right.  Historical comparisons with the French Revolution and where this country is headed are eerie.  The article goes on to say that FEMA camps are where these executions will occur.

I can’t vouch for the integrity and veracity of the article, but I do know a time is coming – during the 7-year Tribulation – and maybe even before, that untold thousands of Christians will be beheaded.  Revelation 20:4 tells us:

Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years

Published in 2016, Sow The Wind and the following books use FEMA camps as a place where – guess what? – Christians and conservatives are placed in a purge by Islamic factions that have taken over the nation.  (Does any of this sound familiar with what we’re currently experiencing?)

Get ahead of the curve!  Know what’s coming.  I’ve laid it out in my fictional thrillers.

In the midst of all this chaos, however, be of good cheer.  Jesus is coming soon.  Hang on and do the work that God has called you to in the meantime.

Gods Over Nations – Then & Now

Have you ever considered the cultures described in the Old Testament and wondered why today we don’t see similar practices?  How could there be such depravity in those times and not in our current era?  What happened to the gods, the idols, the sexual perversions, the abominations with children, even the cannibalism?  Did all this wickedness disappear?

Or, could there be such degeneracy happening today, and we’re simply not aware of it?

The way most Christians read the Bible misses the mark as to truly understanding the nature of the world and the evil that pervades it.  Everyone knows about Satan.  He’s the poster boy for every evil deed.  But does he act alone?  We say Satan does this or that, and we give him credit for all concurrent reprobate behavior worldwide as though he’s omnipresent in the same manner as God.  Is he?  Of course not.  We know better.  He’s a creation of God and, although a spiritual being, doesn’t have God’s characteristics of omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence.  How then does Satan get around and do all these terrible things that we attribute to him?

Sadly, he’s got a rather efficient team.

The question then becomes: How does this team work that Satan’s influence can be so comprehensive?  Going back to the first questions in this essay, have Satan and his team abandoned all the iniquity that they encouraged in mankind in the Old Testament period?

I maintain the answer is no; that all of these same perversions continue to this very moment.  They’re simply hidden beneath our civilized veneer.  In fact, we’re prevented from seeing most of them.

Let’s set the stage for the present by understanding the past.  In prior articles I’ve written about the Deuteronomy 32 Worldview.  Briefly, God created a spiritual family.  He puts them to useful work just as he does with us, His human family.  His spiritual sons carry out God’s decrees from heaven and make them manifest on earth.  Unfortunately, because the heavenly host has free will like mankind does, its members can choose to rebel against God and act disobediently in their own interests.

We see this in Genesis 6:1-7.  The sons of God, the bene elohim, left their heavenly estate (see Jude 6) and had sexual relations with human women.  They produced hybrid beings called Nephilim and spread such corruption and abominations throughout the earth that God determined to wipe out everyone and everything that He had made.

After the flood, contrary to God’s command, men gathered at Babel and built its tower with the intent of bringing God down under their control.  God directed his then-loyal spiritual sons (“Come, let us go down…”) to scatter mankind throughout the earth and to confuse their language (Genesis 11:7-9).  In Deuteronomy 32:8, we see that God placed these heavenly beings over the nations.  At this point they were still faithful to Him:

When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance,
when he divided mankind,
he fixed the borders of the peoples
according to the number of the sons of God.

Be sure you’re reading this in a translation like the ESV that provides the proper Hebrew language wording.  The incorrect translation says “the sons of Israel” which is non-sensical.  God never placed Israel in a position of authority over other nations.  In fact, Israel wasn’t even a nation at this point in time.  It was only in Genesis 12, after the Babel incident, that God even began raising up Israel as His own chosen people.

But something happened to every single one of these spiritual entities that God put in place.  Their job was to direct the rest of mankind to Yahweh while He raised up Israel (i.e. Jacob) as His special and chosen nation (Deuteronomy 32:9).  Instead, the power God imbued in them went to their heads.  Just as Satan believed that he was above God, so did every single one of these spiritual sons.  All rebelled, perhaps at Satan’s instigation.  Regardless how it happened, all became gods of the nations over which God had placed them.

In Psalm 82 we see how angry God was at their disobedience; so much so that He condemned them all to die like mere men.

But that hasn’t happened yet.  Unlike the fallen sons in Genesis 6 that have already been relegated to the depths of Tartarus (2 Peter 2:4), the sons, i.e. the gods, over the nations of the world remain in place to this day.  In the Old Testament we see their undue influence on man, whether pagan or Israelite.  The worship of these deities caused men to commit abominations in the sight of God, including child sacrifice, divination, extreme sexual deviancy, and even cannibalism.  All these practices were committed by the entire spectrum of man in every strata of society, from kings to priests to peasants.  We get a sense of this from Paul’s letters to the Corinthians.  They were still engaging temple cult prostitutes despite their profession of Christianity (e.g. 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:1-20).

Obviously, some aspect of the Old Testament practices bled through into New Testament times.  Actually, all of it.  Why should today be any different if these same gods remain in place over the nations?  Jesus has already won the war, but the world continues in rebellion until He returns at the end of the Tribulation and cleans up this mess.

If the gods required blood sacrifices then; if their out-sized influence caused mankind to engage in odious practices then, wouldn’t they continue to do so today with their subjects?  Who are their subjects?  ANYONE who doesn’t follow Jesus Christ; anyone who has sinned and opened the door to the demonic.  Then where are these abominations occurring?  Why don’t we see them?  I believe because they’re hidden in plain sight.

Their visibility has shifted.  Yet if we had eyes to see, we would.

Let’s do a thought experiment.  How does someone rise to the greatest heights of prominence in his or her sphere, whether government, entertainment, sports, high tech, and even in the church?  There are three primary ways:

  1. A person works hard and through his own efforts claws his way to the top.
  2. Someone is a follower of Jesus Christ and God blesses him.
  3. The hunger and lust for success drive a person to make an unholy alliance that guarantees prominence in this life in exchange for his soul in the next.

True faith in Christ is rare in the world.  Jesus told us the road of destruction is very broad, while the path through the straight gate of God’s kingdom is extremely narrow (Matthew 7:13).  That being the case, #2 above is probably a rare occurrence.  What about #1?  How often do you think people overcome all the obstacles in life on their own that prevent extraordinary success?  I bet the odds are greatly against this as well.

Trying to calculate percentages is a stab in the dark.  One of the major questions is: How many people don’t know God through His Son and also sin?

Under the assumption that very few highly placed individuals in their chosen fields are true Christians, and few of these have likely risen to the top through their own human efforts, I believe that many—MANY—of these leaders in all of these cultural and societal spheres have demonic help.  More than that, because the great “unwashed” populace of the world are not Christians, I also believe that a great many of them likewise have submitted to the influence of demons.  But let’s just discuss the elites.

If you have your ear to the ground, you’ve probably heard about the extraordinary amount of human trafficking in the world.  If you’re paying more attention, you may have also noted that many elite pedophile rings have been discovered in recent years with some taken down.  If you’ve followed the scent, you’ve likely heard that these pedophiles are highly placed in government, industry, and even the church.  They’re disgusting, yet few participants actually get caught and punished.  Why?  Because at the nosebleed levels that these elites operate, they take care of their own.  Consider why Jeffrey Epstein “committed suicide.”

Perhaps you’ve heard of Pizzagate or Spirit Cooking.  If not, do the research.  You’ll see that VERY well-known names in our government, from Hollywood, throughout Silicon Valley, and among other areas of wealth and influence in this nation, have deep ties to these abominable practices.  In America and throughout the world, wealthy families, royal families, are either deeply involved themselves or give money to those who practice these things.  Saudi Arabia was a major contributor until the royal family was significantly changed.  Because of their public persona, they will also do ANYTHING necessary to prevent disclosure.  Could this be the reason so many people in the sphere of Bill and Hillary Clinton have mysteriously been killed or committed suicide?  Have you ever heard of anyone else with ties to so many deaths of people they know?  Could potential exposure of elite pedophile rings be one of the big reasons why Donald Trump has been targeted like he has?

Back to one of the original questions.  Does Satan operate alone?  Is there any way he possibly could?  Logically, no.

Think about what Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:12:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

This tells us how God’s spiritual enemies work.  They’re hierarchical.  But more than that, they are territorial.  Once more, recall Deuteronomy 32:8.  Demonic beings, i.e. fallen sons of God, rule geographically over nations.  In addition, they have cultural and societal spheres of influence; you name something or someplace where power and control are present and you’ll encounter these rebellious spiritual beings pulling strings over their human counterparts.  Anyone who rejects Jesus as Savior and Lord is subject to these entities.  If these humans have sold their souls—which I maintain that a great many of them have—then what kind of practices do you think they’ll do?

We need only refer to the Old Testament for a flavor.  They do today exactly what they did then.  And they’re all under the power, control, or influence of—yes, Satan—but more importantly for our understanding: the fallen sons of God and their minions.

Is it any wonder that we have such lawlessness all around us?  Worse, we cannot even begin to imagine the complete descent into iniquity once we are Raptured and the Holy Spirit departs with His church, thus removing all restraint from chaos and the works of Satan and his henchmen.

Jesus came to this world to destroy all this anti-God activity and more.

Thank you, Lord, for Your mercy upon those who love and abide in You.

The New “Community” Policing?

The latest news in the George Floyd martyrdom epic is that the Minneapolis City Council is seriously considering disbanding their police force.  Los Angeles also wants to move in that direction.  No doubt other cities will follow suit.  Additionally, the Minneapolis Public Schools have voted to end their contract with the Minneapolis Police Department.  That idea has spread, and other school districts around the country are similarly planning to cut ties with their local police departments.

Lawlessness has been on my mind recently with the violent Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other Marxist, anarchist groups hijacking what may have begun as peaceful protests in this matter.  However, as Candace Owens brilliantly said, George Floyd was no saint and for the black community to make him one does an injustice to their cause:

Where all this has led is people like Jeremiah Ellison, a council member in the Minneapolis 5th Ward calling for the dismantling of their police force.  Ilhan Omar, Muslim Democrat Congresswoman from Minnesota has likewise called for disbanding the police department; she wants to “reimagine public safety.”  Oh, by the way, Jeremiah is the son of Keith Ellison, the Minnesota Attorney General and an outspoken Muslim.  I don’t have any verification that young Ellison is a follower of Mohammad, but the odds are pretty good, since one is automatically a Muslim if the father is one.

Surely, being good Muslims, this father-son duo and Ms. Omar wouldn’t want complete anarchy in the community if public policing is dispatched.  Islam, after all, is a religion of laws.  Mohammad made sure of that.

And, lo and behold, Islam has the answer!  It’s called Sharia Law.

For a number of years there have been efforts within various cities to enable Sharia Law to work alongside secular, municipal or state laws—essentially to operate shadow Sharia courts.  Some states have gone so far as to ban Sharia Law from being enacted in any way; other states have been more tolerant.

Since the Muslim heritage is the combining of government and religion with everything legislated under Sharia Law, what might the odds be for the Ellisons and others to have Sharia in mind as the substitute for secular policing?  After all, as we’re often told, all police are racist.  As a result, community policing efforts have concentrated on eliminating racism.  What could be a better means than to establish Sharia Law as the new community policing standard?  Muslims can’t be racist because…well…they’re Muslims.  That would solve the problem, wouldn’t it?

We also know that Sharia Law will assure justice, fairness, and equity for all.  Well…if you’re a Muslim anyway.  If you’re not, that’s okay, Islam is quite welcoming to converts.  All you have to do is say the shahada, as so many schoolchildren have been forced to do in their studies around the country in recent years, and you, too, can live favorably under Sharia.  (If you don’t, you’re a dhimmi, i.e. a third-class person, with few privileges.  But we won’t speak of such things under this new regime.)

The bottom line is that community relations with a new policing regimen can easily be accomplished under Sharia Law.  Is this a conspiracy theory on my part?  Absolutely!  We know the Muslim Brotherhood, in the Holy Land Foundation trial that was short-circuited by Barack Obama when he became president, had much to say regarding their intentions.

The following is a brief excerpt from the Explanatory Memorandum, which was written by the Muslim Brotherhood in 1991.  It strategically outlines the MB’s plan to infiltrate and destroy the United States (my emphasis):

Understanding the role of the Muslim Brother in North America:

The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the word means. The lkhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim’s destiny to Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no escape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the be [sic] equal.

Is this part of the grand scheme the Ellisons have embraced now that the crisis, with its opportunity that must not be wasted, is at hand?  It wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

Prophecy Update: Chaos – Connect the Dots

Lately we’ve seen an incredible outbreak of violence around America.  At one point I Googled “list of cities with violent protest.”  From Wikipedia I ended up with a forty-five-page document showing every state with cities large and small plus a description of the protest activity.  How should we as Christians view all this?

This essay is as much a teaching as it is a Prophecy Update.  We’ll briefly discuss a number of dots that will bring the title of this piece into understanding.

The God of the Bible as creator brings order out of chaos.  We see that from the very first sentences in Scripture:

Genesis 1:1

1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Chaos is a place without God.  The earth without form was a void of darkness in a watery expanse.  Bible writers use the sea and wilderness as metaphors for chaos.  In the beginning, before God began to create, there was chaos in the nothingness.

The Garden of Eden was God’s holy mountain.  It was where He dwelt in peace and order.  Now, you may ask, “Where does a mountain fit into the concept of the Garden?”  Ezekiel and other Scriptures make it clear:

Ezekiel 28:14

You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.

Where God dwelt when He created the earth wasn’t only a garden, it was a mountain garden.  Mountains are the abode of gods—both Yahweh and pagan gods, i.e. fallen sons of God who raised themselves up in pride to become gods.  Where did God give the Law?  Mount Sinai.  Where is His holy city?  Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, a.k.a. Mount Zion.  When God’s rebellious sons came as gods to the earth in Genesis 6:1-4, they more than likely descended on Mount Hermon.  Mountains are remote, often inhospitable, places for humanity.  They’re hard to ascend.  They are the place where God and gods dwell.  (Caveat: When I speak of gods, I’m not referring to a pantheon whereby God is one of many.  He is God Most High who created all.  He is unique.  He created the spiritual entities who became His spiritual sons, who then rebelled, fell, and appropriated positions as gods.)

When Adam and Eve fell, what did God do?  He cast them out of the mountainous garden abode.  Since the Garden was sacred space as the dwelling place of God, their casting out was to a place of non-God.  Symbolically and literally, God cast them out from order to chaos, from sinless perfection to the place where sin dwells.

Leviticus brings this into focus:

Leviticus 16:6-10

6 “Aaron shall offer the bull as a sin offering for himself and shall make atonement for himself and for his house. 7 Then he shall take the two goats and set them before the Lord at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 8 And Aaron shall cast lots over the two goats, one lot for the Lord and the other lot for Azazel. 9 And Aaron shall present the goat on which the lot fell for the Lord and use it as a sin offering, 10 but the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to Azazel.”

Many Bible translations say “the scapegoat” rather than Azazel.  However, Hebrew grammar makes it plain that this is a proper name, not a description.  We don’t say “the Yahweh,” because the grammar demands the word Yahweh be treated as a proper name.  It’s the same with Azazel.

Who or what is Azazel?  He was a goat demon, perhaps even Satan himself.  From their time in Egypt, the Hebrew people learned to worship the goat demon, and God would have none of that from His people:

Leviticus 17:7

So they shall no more sacrifice their sacrifices to goat demons, after whom they whore. This shall be a statute forever for them throughout their generations.

In the Leviticus 16 passage the scapegoat, i.e. the goat for Azazel was sent into the wilderness.  The wilderness is Azazel’s domain.  It is anti-Eden, anti-God, outside of God’s sacred space.

The wilderness or the desert represents:

  • Death, desolation, destruction
  • Lack of food & water with frightening creatures that live off death & threaten life
  • Used as symbol for divine judgment & apocalypse
  • Dwelling place of evil spirits

When Jesus began His ministry.  Where did He go for forty days?  What happened there?  The wilderness was a place of temptation where Satan, the poster boy for demonic spirits, desired Jesus to sin.

Leviticus 16 deals with the yearly Day of Atonement.  It’s when the temple, the priests, and the people are cleansed of sin for another year.  A little further in the chapter, and we learn how this atoning occurs:

Leviticus 16:20-22

20 “And when he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place and the tent of meeting and the altar, he shall present the live goat. 21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. 22 The goat shall bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area, and he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.

One goat is sacrificed for the blood to cover the sin.  The priest lays his hands on the other goat and sends it outside the camp into the wilderness.  The first goat is for the Lord.  Sin is placed on the second goat and sent to Azazel, to the wilderness, where sin belongs.  You might ask, “Is this a sacrifice to the demon Azazel?”  No.  Sin is banished to non-sacred space, outside of God’s presence.  It is sent to the realm of the dead.

Another dot:

Revelation 13:1,11

1 And I saw a beast rising out of the sea

This is Antichrist.

11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth

This is the False Prophet.

During the Tribulation, these beasts rise out of chaos, from the land, i.e. the wilderness, and the sea, which are both places outside of God’s protection.  As a reminder of the sea and its chaos, think Jesus and the disciples as they crossed the Sea of Galilee.  When He calmed the waters, the disciples were amazed.  Why?  Only God could bring order, calm, and peace out of the chaos of the raging seas.

The Greek for beast is “therion.”  It means wild beast, wild animal, having a brutal nature, and dangerous.  Antichrist and the False prophet are both described this way, i.e. as agents of chaos.

One more dot:

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

This is the Antichrist.  What is lawlessness?  The Greek word “anomia” describes it as iniquity, disobedience, wickedness, sin, and having an utter disregard for God’s law.

Where does lawless, i.e. sin, belong?  In the realm of the dead: outside of God’s protection in the wilderness.

We’re getting closer.  Here’s a critical dot:

Leviticus 18:24-29

24 “Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, 25 and the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. 26 But you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you 27 (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), 28 lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. 29 For everyone who does any of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people.

What happens to nations or individuals who commit abominations in God’s sight and become unclean in His eyes?  Does it matter whether they are people of God or not?  God has declared that anyone and any nation committing abominations make the land unclean.  When the land is unclean, what will it do?  It vomits out its inhabitants.  We see that the land vomited out pagan nations.  We also know that it vomited out Israel: Northern Kingdom in 722 BC; Southern Kingdom in 586 BC; Jews with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD; a final vomiting in 135 AD after the Bar Kokhba Rebellion.  It was this last instance where the Jews were vomited out that resulted in the Romans renaming the land to Palestine.

The final dots:

1 John 3:4

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

1 John 3:1-3

1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

Here’s a Biblical equation I think you can take to the bank:

Lawlessness = antichrist spirit = abominations to God = vomit out of land

Back to our original question.  How should Christians view all this violence?

I’ll put this in the form of an equation as well:

U.S. riots = lawlessness = antichrist spirit = chaos = anti-Eden, anti-God = wilderness with wild beasts = death, destruction = divine judgment

Thus, we must ask ourselves: Will God allow the land to vomit us out of America?

One of the interesting dilemmas we face is that other than a possible oblique reference in Ezekiel 38-39 in the context of the upcoming Ezekiel’s War (i.e. in some Bible translations Ezekiel 38:13 as being among the young lions—descendants of England and/or Spain), America is wholly absent when this conflict occurs.  We’re Israel’s best and most important ally today, so what happens?  Why aren’t we there for her at the advent of this terrible war?  Obviously, something happens to preclude our involvement.

What we’re seeing now is the literal tip of the iceberg for the lawlessness that is coming.  This is all the leadup to the Rapture of the Church and the subsequent Tribulation.  According to the Bible, conditions will only get worse as that time approaches.  (Sorry New Apostolic Reformation—NAR—adherents, you are not going to Christianize the planet through a great revival and hand this wonderful work over to Jesus when He returns.)

So, if there isn’t going to be a worldwide revival, and the earth is going to plunge further into sin, lawlessness, and an antichrist spirit, what are we as the people of God to do as the land vomits us out?  How do we respond to all this?  Should it be in despair and hopelessness?

NO!  We are to rejoice in the Lord always:

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.

We are to look to Jesus and Him alone for our redemption and for our joy.  Only Jesus brings an answer—THE answer—to the mess of this world with its chaotic violence.  All the Social Justice reforms, all the government initiatives, all the secular martyrdom, all the community policing reforms: they are doomed to fail.

The church should not get caught up in them.  Believers are called to a different standard.  We are called to be Watchmen on the Wall (Ezekiel 33).  We are to warn others of God’s soon-coming judgment and His escape plan: salvation through Christ alone.

We are to occupy while there is still light.  God has made each one of us with a purpose.  Let’s fulfill that purpose and be about the Lord’s business.  Let’s pray, witness, and serve, all with purposeful believing loyalty in Him that demonstrates there is no other god but God come in the flesh as Jesus Christ.
